Change was in the air as The Crown wrapped up its penultimate season… and more than one relationship was changing along with it.
Season 5’s finale opens with Dodi al-Fayed telling his father Mohamed about a house he wants to buy in Malibu. (He has to act fast, “or I will lose it to Michael Douglas.”) He also wants to introduce his dad to his new girlfriend… and it’s not Diana. Yet. She’s busy phoning into a call-in show to vote “no” on keeping the British monarchy and cackling to herself. Elsewhere, Tony Blair and the Labour party are poised to sweep Parliament,...

In season five of "The Crown," which premiered on Netflix on Nov. 9, Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) has her first romantic relationships since separating from Prince Charles (Dominic West). Diana dates Dr. Hasnat Khan (Humayun Saeed), though their romance ends in 1997. Diana's next - and final - boyfriend is also introduced over the course of the season's 10 episodes: Dodi Fayed, played by Khalid Abdalla. Ahead, we're breaking down who Dodi was and the role he played in Diana's life.
Who Is Dodi Fayed?
Dodi was the eldest son of Mohamed Al-Fayed and was born in Alexandria in 1955. Episode three of season five, titled "Mou Mou," focuses on Mohamed's life story. Mohamed was a businessman, and, as the show portrays him, he was intent on working his way into the upper crust of British society. He and his brothers had a successful shipping company. In 1979, he bought the Ritz Hotel in Paris.

Just keep diving Kate Middleton! The Duchess of Cambridge may be busy raising two adorable children. But Prince William's leading lady has made some time to get a little sporty. Kensington Palace confirmed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte's mom recently passed a Professional Association of Diving Instructors Advanced Open Water Diver qualification. In far simpler terms, she can now scuba dive to a depth of 30 meters or 98 feet. This workshop will teach you everything you need to know about using social media in corporate social responsibility, from storytelling to successful strategies, 17 October, New York

Guardian Sustainable Business has teamed up with Fenton to bring you a social media and Csr workshop. It is a morning for people who do, in this case Csr and communications professionals. If that's you, you'll leave with:
• Ideas and insights from brands who have created great social media & Csr campaigns
• Advice on...

The celebrity lawyer's newest client is the former girlfriend of the accused face-eating cannibal in Miami – and that's not a surprise
The news that celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred is now representing Yovanka Bryant, the former girlfriend of accused Miami face-eating cannibal Rudy Eugene is perhaps the least strange event in that shocking story.
Wherever and whenever something bizarre or perverse or just plain gossipy hits America's front pages, Allred is never far behind, snapping up clients and holding news conferences. Bryant was due to tell her story at a press conference in Miami on Wednesday.
Here are 10 of the strangest and most high-profile cases that she has been involved in.
The Oj Simpson trial
In 1995 the murder trial of Oj Simpson was quite simply the biggest story in the world. The blanket media coverage and media obsession helped shape the current landscape of celebrity justice and trial by cable TV.
