In honor of October’s National Bullying Prevention Month, Stomp Out Bullying, the leading national nonprofit dedicated to changing the culture for all students, calls on the nation to support their mission by raising awareness around the need to develop a society focused on kindness and inclusivity.
Throughout the month the organization will raise much needed awareness for the cultural shift with various activations, partnerships and celebrity support.
“We have always been an organization dedicated to spreading kindness and preventing bullying and cyberbullying. However, this year, we were driven more than ever to help communities, youth, students and society to realize that what we really need is to change the culture from one of cruelty to one of civility,” said Ross Ellis, CEO and Founder of Stomp Out Bullying. “This October, we mark 12 years as an organization, 12 years where we’ve spent unmeasurable hours dedicated to empowering today’s youth...

You never know when a favorite superhero might be lurking nearby — or the actors who appear in their movies.
A group of lucky high school students in New York City learned that very fun lesson Tuesday when Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Laura Harrier and Jacob Batalon — along with a backflipping, selfie-taking costumed Spider-Man — surprised 500 high school students in an assembly to launch an anti-bullying public service announcement (PSA). The actors, who play high school students and friends of Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in the summer blockbuster, encouraged the students to practice the movie’s message of “celebrating the differences between people.

Stars are stepping up to battle cyberbullying.
A slew of celebrities — from Kristin Cavallari and Victoria Justice to Melissa Joan Hart and Nico Tortorella — sat down with People Now cohosts Jeremy Parsons and Andrea Boehlke for a half-hour special on the epidemic, now available to stream on the People / Entertainment Weekly Network (Pen).
“I had a number of different experiences with bullying both physically and verbally,” says Rj Mitte, who was bullied for living with cerebral palsy even after coming to fame on Breaking Bad. “When you have a physical disability, people see it, and they perceive it as a weakness.

In January 2011, ABC Daytime’s One Life To Live began telling the story of teenager Shane Morasco (Austin Williams) being both bullied and cyberbullied. This week Jack Manning’s (Andrew Trischitta) bullying of Shane escalates to dangerous proportions both in person and online driving Shane to take extreme actions where he ultimately ends up on the high school roof (scenes airing Monday, April 4th and Tuesday, April 5th were shot on the roof of Oltl’s studios in New York City). For the telling of this story, Oltl joined forces with Stomp Out Bullying™, who stands as a leader in efforts to prevent bullying and cyberbullying among kids and teens, to air PSAs during the telling of this story (March 16th and April 4th).
Since the creation of One Life To Live in 1968, the show has always looked for opportunities to inform while entertaining. Child and teen bullying and cyberbullying are at an all-time high.
