Adam Driver has had a very interesting career in the industry starting with her supporting roles in the 2010s. After his on-screen debut in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, the actor continued improving himself with his supporting performances in Girls, Lincoln, Frances Ha, and Inside Lleywn Davis. The actor has now become a great leading man in dramas as well as blockbusters.
Adam Driver as Neil in Gayby | Wolfe Releasing
One of his most entertaining supporting roles was in the 2012 rom-com Gayby, where he played the role of Neil, the co-worker of Matthew Wilkas’s character. Neil is a comic book enthusiast, and he shares the sentiments of many Marvel fans who hated the infamous Spider-Man storyline One More Day and how it ruined many arcs up to that point.

With five Academy Award nominations and a win for “The Revenant,” Leonardo DiCaprio has established himself as a Hollywood icon — vaulting from his first starring role in the sci-fi horror “Critters III” to challenging parts with major auteurs, including Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, and Alejandro G. Iñárritu, while championing humanitarian issues through his prolific environmental activism.
In “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,” DiCaprio played a washed-up movie star at the end of his tether, which is perhaps the biggest stretch of the actor’s filmography considering his esteemed pedigree and enviable body of work. With nearly $7 billion dollars of global box office to his name and a list of roles that prove his selective instincts each time out, DiCaprio is one of the few movie stars working today who always delivers something worth seeing.
That even includes Adam McKay’s 2021 end-times satire for Netflix “Don’t Look Up,...

Actor Clint Eastwood was rumored to be working with Joker star Joaquin Phoenix on a project that later went to Leonardo DiCaprio. But Eastwood took the time to address the speculation, and why it was wrong.

Eastwood and DiCaprio teamed up to tell the story of J. Edgar Hoover in the titular feature J. Edgar. In an interview with The New York Times, DiCaprio shared that he jumped at the opportunity to do the film. Partially because it presented some unique challenges for his career.
“When I can’t immediately define the character, and there’s an element of mystery to it and still a lot to be explored, that’s when I say yes,” DiCaprio said. “I like those kinds of complicated characters. I just do.”

The Bosch universe is expanding further. Prime Video has given a 10-episode series order to the Untitled Renée Ballard project, a Bosch spinoff about the LAPD’s Cold Case Division.
The newly greenlighted series is one of two projects inspired by the work of bestselling author Michael Connelly that has been in the works at Amazon MGM Studios since February. The other, the Untitled J. Edgar project, remains in development. It follows Harry Bosch’s former partner, Detective Jerry Edgar, who is tapped for an undercover FBI mission in Little Haiti, Miami.
The Untitled Renée Ballard project is centered around a character that has not appeared on the two Bosch series to date. It follows Detective Renée Ballard, who is tasked with running the LAPD’s new cold case division—a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest case load in the city. Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination.

Jeffrey Donovan will not be returning as Detective Cosgrove for Season 23 of “Law & Order,” Variety has confirmed.
According to TVLine, who was first to report the news, producers are already on the search for a new series regular. The outlet reports sources claim the two parted ways due to creative differences.
Donovan joined the cast in 2021, portraying Detective Cosgrove in Seasons 21 and 22 of the series revival. Cosgrove, a junior detective, joined the NYPD team as the new partner of Det. Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson). “Frank is a tough-as-nails detective that seeks justice by whatever means necessary. Every legal drama needs a bad cop, and Donovan shines,” reads his official character description, per NBC.
Probably best known for his leading work as former CIA operative Michael Westen on the USA series “Burn Notice” for seven seasons, Donovan also gained recognition with notable roles on FX’s “Fargo” and Hulu’s “Shut Eye.

Martin Scorsese's new film "Killers of the Flower Moon," based on true events, takes place in the Osage Nation just after World War I. The Osage people have a vast reservoir of oil on their land and have, very quickly, become some of the wealthiest people on the planet.
The movie mostly surrounds a man named Ernest (Leonardo DiCaprio), a weak-willed former soldier who is just looking for a job. Ernest falls into the employ of his uncle, William King Hale (Robert De Niro), a real-life local politician who claimed to speak for the Osage people and to be a friend of the community, but who was in fact bilking the community for their money, murdering its citizens, and doing everything in his power to rearrange Osage wealth so that it flowed toward white men. Don’t mess with this dad. Amazon Freevee has revealed the first teaser for Bosch: Legacy Season 2, which premieres this October, and things are intense, to say the least. Harry Bosch is on the hunt for his daughter Maddie, who was abducted in the season 1 finale. He’s not going to let anything stand in the way of finding her, even his former partner, J. Edgar.
‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 2 picks up after last season’s cliffhanger
Bosch: Legacy’s first season ended on a major cliffhanger when rookie LAPD officer Maddie (Madison Lintz) was kidnapped by a masked assailant – presumably the infamous screen-cutter rapist. Season 2 will pick up after that event as retired cop turned Pi Harry (Titus Welliver) hunts down the man who took his only child.
“Maddie’s been taken,” he says in the first teaser for the new season (via YouTube). “Tell me what I’m supposed to do.

Things are shaping up for Bosch: Legacy Season 2. The Amazon Freevee series – which the streamer has already renewed for season 3 – will return in the fall of 2023. The new episodes will pick up after season 1’s cliffhanger ending, which seemingly saw the screen cutter rapist abduct Maddie Bosch. The show’s three core cast members will be back, as well as a number of supporting characters from Bosch: Legacy Season 1 and Prime Video’s original Bosch series.

Amazon is betting big on Harry Bosch. Freevee has renewed the Bosch spinoff Bosch: Legacy for season 3. The news comes months ahead of the show’s upcoming season 2 premiere in fall 2023.
Bosch aired for seven seasons on Prime Video and starred Titus Welliver as LAPD detective Harry Bosch. The gruff but principled Harry approached each of his complex cases with the same motto in mind: Everybody counts or nobody counts. That show ended in 2021, but a spinoff, Bosch: Legacy, premiered in 2022. Welliver reprised his role as Harry, who is working as a private detective following his retirement from the police department.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black will stand trial in the UK after being accused of assaulting a BBC TV presenter at a nightclub in London.

One of the most important lessons Fuzzy Door Productions president Erica Huggins has applied in her career is how to say no.
At the production company Seth MacFarlane founded in 1998, Huggins oversees the creative direction and development process of the company’s feature films and television series. She’s been the executive producer on projects including Peacock’s “Ted” and “The End Is Nye” and Netflix’s new animated take on Norman Lear’s “Good Times.”
A key lesson has been how to champion “material that you really believe you can win with,” she told TheWrap for this week’s Office With a View. “Most people want to hear the truth and sometimes it’s hard to say no to somebody [or] that you like something but you don’t love it, or you don’t know how to push it through the system of development and get it made,” she added.

If it feels like only yesterday that a big TV franchise with a loyal fanbase had multiple spin-off series confirmed for a large streaming service, then that would be because it pretty much was only yesterday. But before we’ve even had chance to fully process the news of Dexter’s universe-broadening return – has swept in to steal Paramount+ with Showtime’s thunder, announcing not one, but two all-new additions to the Boschverse.
Based on Michael Connelly’s hugely successful crime novels, the original Bosch – which stars Titus Welliver’s Detective Jerry Edgar and LAPD Detective Renee Ballard, a prominent character in Connelly’s books who we’ve yet to see on screen, are in the works. Check out the loglines for the two as-yet-untitled shows below:

Amazon Studios is expanding Michael Connelly’s Bosch TV universe with two spinoffs currently in development — one focused on “Bosch” mainstay Jerry Edgar and the other on Connelly’s newest protagonist, Renee Ballard.
The first untitled spinoff will sees Jerry Edgar, Harry Bosch’s former partner, tapped for an undercover FBI mission in Little Haiti, Miami. Per the logline, “In this glamorous city, he is forced to balance his new life with the gritty underbelly of the city, while being chased by his mysterious past.”
The cast isn’t lined up just yet, but Jamie Hector, who played J. Edgar on all 7 seasons of “Bosch” and returned for a cameo during the first season of the sequel series “Bosch: Legacy,” is in talks to return, TheWrap has confirmed.

Bosch fans, rejoice! Amazon‘s universe, inspired by the work of best-selling author Michael Connolly, is expanding with two Bosch spinoffs. The first project is an Untitled J. Edgar spinoff, following Harry Bosch’s former partner, Detective Jerry Edgar, who accepts an undercover FBI mission in Little Haiti, Miami. In this new locale, Edgar explores a gorgeous metropolis while balancing his life with the criminal element of the dreamy area. It’s rather inspiring to be in a new place until his past comes back to haunt him, making his new assignment more difficult than anticipated. According to Deadline, Jamie Hector, who plays Detective Jerry Edgar on Bosch and Bosch: Legacy, is in talks to reprise his role.

Is that the direction you chose? Because it was about time.
A billionaire played some antics and forced the team to take on a case on The Rookie: Feds Season 1 Episode 14. Simone and Brendon were given some choices with their probationary period nearing its end.
Garza's ex-wife visited and dredged up some old feelings in multiple people, while Cutty visited Simone at work and didn't burst into flames after entering the building.
Simone was confronted with a moral decision that saw her sacrifice the possibility of advancing her career quickly or speak the truth.
The FBI was confronted with its legacy and the steps it had made to better its public image.
So far, the show has stuck on one path: developing its characters and serving action. It would have been dumb of them to ignore the real issues law enforcement has to navigate while attempting to keep the citizens safe.

"I loved telling stories, and I took every opportunity I could to tell gay stories." HBO has unveiled the official trailer for a documentary biopic film titled Mama's Boy, based on the memoir written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black. After winning for Milk, he went on to write the scripts for Virginia and J. Edgar (and has Rustin due out next year). This will be streaming on HBO next week. Mama’s Boy is an HBO Original that centers around the upbringing of writer Dustin Lance Black and how his close relationship with his mother led to and inspired his activism. He was raised in a Mormon home, and it took years for him to come out to his mother. He was afraid of her reaction. But as he explains in this trailer, his story is important because she eventually came to appreciate him for who he is...

On paper, Clint Eastwood seems to have enjoyed a well plotted out career. In the early 1960s, he made himself known to American television viewers via his role as Rowdy Yates on "Rawhide." From there, he segued to the newfangled Spaghetti Westerns of Sergio Leone as the laconic "Man with No Name" in the "Dollars Trilogy." As conventional Westerns faded out of fashion, Eastwood made violent, anti-mythic oaters like "Hang 'Em High" and "The Outlaw Josey Wales," while adopting the persona of Dirty Harry Callahan in a series of cop flicks that both capitalized on and tweaked the country's law-and-order fervor. Then, after a few stumbles in the late 1980s, Eastwood went full-on revisionist with "Unforgiven," at which point he became a perennial Oscar darling.
Amazingly, Eastwood is still plugging away at 92. That kind of career longevity isn't just rare, it's just about unprecedented. Only Portuguese filmmaker Manoel de Oliveira,...

With a seemingly endless amount of streaming options — not only the titles at our disposal, but services themselves — we’ve taken it upon ourselves to highlight the titles that have recently hit the interwebs. Every week, one will be able to see the cream of the crop (or perhaps some simply interesting picks) of streaming titles (new and old) across platforms such as Netflix, iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and more (note: U.S. only). Check out our rundown for this week’s selections below.
10 Cloverfield Lane (Dan Trachtenberg)
Forget the Cloverfield connection. The actors who were in this film didn’t even know what the title was until moments before the first trailer dropped. Producer J.J. Abrams used that branding as part of the wrapping for its promotional mystery box, but the movie stands perfectly alone from 2008’s found-footage monster picture. There’s no shortage of Top Ten lists out there in the world, I know. That being said, every so often one is of special interest. A few hours ago, the American Film Institute (or AFI) released their Top Ten list for 2015 and they’re officially the first to have Star Wars: The Force Awakens cited. Considering that they had already mentioned that the AFI Top Ten for 2015 would be delayed a few days to make sure it could be seen, this isn’t wholly shocking, but still…it is kind of cool. I’ll discuss the potential awards prospects for the movie later on this week, but for now, I do want to talk a bit about if/how AFI matters. It wasn’t just Star Wars: The Force Awakens being honored, as the other nine films feted by AFI were The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Carol, Inside Out,...

Titus Welliver isn't the first actor I might have thought of to play Lapd homicide cop Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch, hero of 17 best-selling mystery novels and counting by Michael Connelly (plus multiple appearances in Connelly's "Lincoln Lawyer" series). But that's more because the book series started so long ago, and has allowed Harry to age in real time, so my mental image of him is much older than the "Deadwood" alum. In "Bosch," a new TV series whose first season can be streamed on Amazon Prime starting today, Welliver plays a younger and slightly mellower version of Harry. Connelly and producer Eric Overmyer ("The Wire," "Tremé") adapted the first season from pieces of three different Bosch novels ("The Concrete Blonde," "City of Bones" and "Echo Park"), and tweaks some biographical details. (Over the course of the early books, for instance, Bosch got married, divorced, and had a daughter who's on the...

While it couldn't quite match up to its predecessor, Taken 3 still got off to a strong start on Friday. The other newcomers didn't fare quite so well: Selma fell short of modest expectations, while Inherent Vice failed to crack the Top 10.Playing at 3,594 theaters, Taken 3 opened to an estimated $14.7 million on Friday. That's off 20 percent from Taken 2's $18.4 million debut; given how poor the reception seemed to be for the second installment, that's actually a pretty solid hold. Taken 3 also opened roughly on par with Lone Survivor, which took in $14.4 million on this same day last year. If Taken 3 holds up similarly, it will finish the weekend with over $38 million (which will rank third all-time in January). In a distant second place, Selma earned $3.8 million from 2,179 locations. That's less than half of The Butler's $8.3 million debut, and is in the same general range as disappointing...

Watching James Brown biopic Get On Up has Mark pining for Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story...
“James Brown needs to think about his entire life before he plays.”
That's not how Get On Up opens, but it's close enough to the first line from 2007's Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, a woefully under-appreciated comedy that should really be required viewing as a “What Not To Do” guide for anyone attempting a biopic of a musician. Alas, this film about Godfather of Soul James Brown walks into every cliché lampooned in the Apatow spoof one by one, although not necessarily in the right order.
It starts with that Cox-style pre-gig remembrance, with lines of dialogue we'll hear in the next two hours echoing around as Brown (Chadwick Boseman) walks down a long corridor to the stage. Then for mystifying reasons, we cut to 1989, to an utterly random and anecdotal...

Damon Lindelof’s latest TV effort, The Leftovers on HBO (co-created by and adapted from the novel by Tom Perrotta) just hit the halfway mark through its first season on Sunday, and it’s easily the best new show to premiere this summer. This comes with two disclosures: 1. Summers are usually treated more like draughts than harvesting season for TV networks so 2. The competition is usually (and specifically this year) lackluster. For example, this year you have AMC’s disappointingly tone-deaf Halt and Catch Fire, while on FX you have Guillermo Del Toro’s The Strain struggling to decide if it’s good-bad or just bad-bad. Despite a lightweight competition, The Leftovers still holds its title of best new Summer show, a title that is earned despite the show winning it by default.
