The UK Premiere for The Power, Prime Video’s new series starring Toni Collette, arrived in the West End of London this evening. This evening the capital saw the stars come down to Earth as Leicester Square took in the UK Premiere of Lightyear, Pixar’s spin off from the Toy Story series. Chris Evans voices the astronaut, and he is joined by Keke Palmer, Dale Soules and Taika Waititi as a group of ambitious recruits. After months of amazing word of mouth and a few awards, Sundance 2017 darling A Ghost Story finally makes its way to UK shores this weekend and we couldn’t recommend the film more – check out our glowing 5* review here – so we felt privileged and excited to sit down with its writer/director David Lowery to chat about his unforgettable film.
For those of you who don’t know much about the film, which stars Academy Award Winner Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea) and Academy Award Nominee Rooney Mara (Song to Song), you should very much keep it that way for the less you know the better. Netflix are a busy bunch right now with a slew of new and old shows (and films) set to debut in the next month: as well as Glow: this month sees the return of House of Cards (starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright) for its fifth season; following that at the beginning of June is another returning show, Orange is the New Black, which also begins its fifth series.
Also in May sees the debut of War Machine, the new film from acclaimed director David Michod (The Rover, Animal Kingdom) and stars Brad Pitt, Tilda Swinton, Will Poulter, Emory Cohen, Topher Grace and Sir Ben Kingsley.

Another Stephen King novel is getting the remake treatment with news that Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures are readying a new version of Firestarter (via The Daily Dead).
The original novel, published in 1981, was made into a feature film in 1984 by Mark Lester (Commando) and starred Drew Barrymore (Santa Clarita Diet, The Wedding Singer) in the lead role. Martin Sheen, George C. Scott, Art Carney, David Kieth and Heather Locklear co-starred and grossed over $17million domestically.
For the remake, Blumhouse have secured Akiva Goldsman (A New York Winters Tale) to direct the film after recently helming Stephanie for the production company and which debuted this week at the Overlook Film Festival. Goldsman is an Academy Award Winning writer for his work on A Beautiful Mind and has also scribed a wide range of films including the upcoming The Dark Tower, Angels & Demons, Batman and Robin, and A Time To Kill.

Today it’s the turn of Annabelle, the creepy doll from The Conjuring that is scaring up the web with the first trailer for Annabelle: Creation, which opens this summer.
The first film, released in 2014, was directed by John R. Leonetti and grossed over $256.9million at the worldwide box office from a budget of just $6.5million. And as with many modern horror films, profits and success have led to a sequel which is being directed by Lights Out helmer David F. Sandberg.
