The latest movie sent over for us to review on our iPod Touch so kindly given to us by NBC Universal is Coraline. I have to admit to not knowing too much about this movie before I watched it. I’d heard something about buttons for eyes and that it was a bit twisted but other than that I was pretty clueless.
The movie stars Dakota Fanning as Coraline, Teri Hatcher, John Hodgman, Ian McShane, Keith David and is directed by Henry Selick who previously brought us A Nightmare Before Christmas. Once you see Coraline, that will make perfect sense. I think that I had the misconception that this was a kids movie but now that I’ve seen it, it’s so much more than that and will definitely appeal both to adults and children. That said, it’s quite a freaky film with a few bits that made me, »

Finally we get a trailer for the dark comedy Don McKay, which shows Thomas Haden Church still got the goods, and so does the ever gorgeous Elizabeth Shue. Having solid supporting peeps like Keith David and Pruitt Taylor Vince probably helps a heck of a lot too. The film, from first time director Jake Goldberg, has Church playing a high school janitor who comes back to his hometown to reunite with his dying first love, but gets much more than he was hoping for. From what we can see in that... »

We're pleased to be the first to bring you the trailer for Jake Goldberger's darkly comic thriller, Don McKay today. The film was a hit at this year's Tribeca Film Festival and stars a pretty stellar cast headed up by Thomas Haden Church and Elisabeth Shue (man, haven't seen her in a while). Personally I like these kinds of small town, nothing-is-as-it-seems thrillers and I can't wait to check it out.
Synopsis:
Twenty-five years after abandoning his hometown, Don McKay (Thomas Haden Church) gets a letter from his ex-girlfriend (Elisabeth Shue) saying that she is dying and wants him to come see her. When Don returns home, Sonny doesn't seem quite like he remembers her and everything seems a little bit off. In this darkly comic debut thriller, Moment Of Truth, writer/director Jake Goldberger tells a story where no one is who they seem and everyone appears to be hiding something. »

Say what you will about the live-action movie, but HBO's late-'90s animated series "Todd McFarlane's Spawn" was one of the most faithful adaptations of a comic book to ever hit the screen. Taking full advantage of the network's restriction-free environment, the 18-episode series managed to offer the same violence, sex and dark, adult-oriented tone that made McFarlane's "Spawn" comic such a success.
And now the Emmy-winning series could be headed back to television.
I spoke to McFarlane about his recent announcement that the "Spawn" animated series could be returning to production in 2010, and got the lowdown on why next year could be a big one for the popular Hellspawn, and what form his big comeback could take if it happens.
"I had a lot of people saying they loved the animated series more than the movie, because the movie was PG-13 and HBO wasn't shy about going into »

It exposes that the story begins in Charlotte La Bouff's room with Tiana's mother reading "The Frog Prince" tale to Charlotte and Tiana. Though offering a look at Tiana as a child and her take on kissing a frog, some parts of the animation are still unfinished.
