With The Twilight Saga: New Moon coming out in just two weeks, I thought I’d declare November “Vampire Month” for Watch Out!, as we take a look at some really great underappreciated movies involving vampires. For this first week, however, we’ll take a look at a TV show instead. It’s called Ultraviolet, and while it only lasted 6 episodes (or one season of British television), you can say that it’s quite ahead of its time.
Ultraviolet came out in 1998, roughly around the same time Buffy the Vampire Slayer took off, starring a few guys who would later earn much bigger popularity from other TV shows: Jack Davenport (Coupling), Idris Elba (The Wire) and Stephen Moyer (True Blood). I don’t remember how I first discovered this gem—it’s been years—but it might have something to do with hearing it mentioned many times by horror fans »

The following article was originally posted on hyperMosaic.com by Sam McPherson. You can read the original article there.
After this week's bombshell of an episode, FlashForward returns with an episode that seems to be just as much of a thrill ride. The series continues moving forward at a breakneck pace, revealing new answers to questions posed by the flashforwards of both Mark and Aaron.
The episode will also mark the return of Janis to the show after her absence from this week's episode, and will also most likely at least throw some hints about her pregnancy.
However, the most important part of the episode is destined to be the card game between Lloyd and Simon. While this material seems like it will be slightly filler-ish, I think that it'll reveal quite a lot through the characters' interactions. Who knows, we might even get so see some of the other scientists responsible for the blackout. »

Jack Davenport has admitted that he would be "scared" to experience a 'FlashForward' in real-life. The former This Life star plays Lloyd Simcoe on the show, in which the world populace is thrown into upheaval after they black out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds and glimpse forthcoming events in their lives. Davenport revealed that he has no inkling whatsoever to see into his future, Pa reports. He said: "Absolutely not - I'm scared enough of the future as it is, ignorance is bliss." The 36-year-old Brit also explained that he is "pleased" (more) »

Like actor Jack Davenport, maybe we can all sigh with relief at the fact that Flash Forward is just a television show. If a global blackout were to happen in real life, we wouldn't be equipped enough to handle it since it's doubtful our lives are planned out to the last detail.
Anyway, the 36-year-old star revealed to the Press Association how he hopes actual flashes of the future won't happen in real life. When asked if he'd like to experience his own vision, Davenport answered with a laugh, "Absolutely not - I'm scared enough of the future as it is, ignorance is bliss!"

Episode Title: "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps"
Written By: Seth Hoffman and Quinton Peeples
The Story: Agents Demitri Noh (John Cho) and Al Gough (Lee Thompson Young) investigate the bullet-filled ambushes from last week's episode, while Agent Janis Hawk (Christine Woods) recovers from her wounds in the hospital. Meanwhile, the hospitalized son of Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) — the man that Olivia (Sonya Walger) will leave Mark (Joseph Fiennes) for in her flash-forward — goes missing, leading to an awkward encounter. Elsewhere, Simon (Dominic Monaghan) reemerges, and he's not the friendly little Hobbit we're all used to.
Simon Says: Finally, we spent a significant amount of time with Simon, a self-described "quantum physicist genius" who just so happens to take enormous pleasure in crushing people's tracheas. Clearly, Monaghan is playing a very different animal than Merry the Hobbit or Charlie the rock star — and for me, it works. This guy is utterly creepy, »

The obligatory Halloween episode has arrived, and we didn't need a vision of the future to know that monsters and creeps are afoot on tonight's Flash Forward. We were left with a shootout on the previous installment of the series, and we'll see if things have looked up for the agents on "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps."
With a title like that, you can bet there'll be more chills coming on Flash Forward. Of course, that may just be the addition of Dominic Monaghan to the cast. He'll be playing the mysterious Simon, who has ties to Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) and the feared global blackout.

Episode Title: "Gimme Some Truth"
Written by: Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin
The Story: The Mosaic Team — including Agents Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes), Demetri Noh (John Cho) and Stanford Wedeck (Courtney B. Vance) — heads to Washington, D.C. to speak before Congress about their investigation into the blackouts and resulting flash-forwards, culminating in difficult choices for Wedeck, hard realizations for Benford and plenty of gunfire. Meanwhile, Agent Janis Hawk (Christine Woods) explores a new relationship.
Back On The Beltway: Plot development was front-and-center in tonight's episode of "FlashForward," but characterization was right behind in full-force. Not only did we get some interesting insight into how the world is reacting to the blackouts — specifically, the U.S. government headed by President David Segovia (the always excellent Peter Coyote) — but we got a nice look into Agent Stanford Wedeck, the typically sharp-as-nails director of the Mosaic Team who apparently has more of »

This week’s episode opens on the day of the FlashForward in a park, with some weird-ass Bjork playing over the background. In this opening you witness everyone pass out, some planes explode and a bus drive into a pond. In the bus, the blacked out people are drowning except for one guy who rescues a blonde.
And now this guy, Ned, is at the hospital being interviewed for some internal bruising by Dr. Olivia Benford and her resident surgeon Bryce who before the blackout was trying to kill himself. Bryce asks what Ned saw in his flash forward which was seeing himself as a black man, which is pretty strange considering Ned is about as white as Kenneth the Page from 30 Rock.

The future is not set in stone, as some would like to believe. But on Flash Forward, it's getting difficult to have faith in a 137-second uncertainty. The more a character tries to deny their visions, the closer they get to them. Actress Sonya Walger's character, Olivia, noted this on her interview with TV Guide.
Though happily married to Mark Benford, Olivia saw herself having an affair with another man - Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport). In her vision, she saw him on the couch of her living room holding a cell-phone. Apparently, that's not the whole 2 minutes and 17 seconds of a flash forward.

Episode Title: "Black Swan"
Written by: Lisa Zwerling and Scott M. Gimple
The Story: Agents Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) and Demetri Noh (John Cho) revisit an old lead in captured terror suspect Alda Hertzog (Rachel Roberts). Meanwhile, Mark's wife Olivia (Sonya Walger) and fellow surgeon Bryce (Zachary Knighton) have a nearly fatal disagreement over how to treat a patient based on his flash-forward.
The Most Profound Question Of All: Noh is destined to be murdered, but Benford believes he can prevent it. Bryce believes that his patient has a medical condition foretold by his flash-forward, but Olivia thinks that's ridiculous. Only one side of the argument can ultimately be right — either these flash-forwards are inevitable, or the future can be prevented. The most profound question of all isn't why the blackout happened, as Alda suggests, but whether or not the flash-forwards can be stopped. Do they have to happen just because they were foreseen? »

Since the first episode of FlashForward, viewers have been wondering about the future of Olivia and husband Mark; versus the future of Olivia and Lloyd, the man she saw herself with in the future.
On October 29, we'll get some answers, as Lloyd knocks on the door of the married couple.
“Mark’s not pleased to see Lloyd,” Jack Davenport, who plays the latter, told TV Guide Magazine; adding that his character arrives with autistic son Dylan, who immediately recognizes the house and the Benford's daughter.
As you might expect, "it’s a weird territory,” said Joseph Fiennes (Mark). He said:
“Lloyd and Mark can’t condemn each other at this stage for what hasn’t yet happened. Plus, you risk possibly manifesting the (infidelity) outcome as a self-fulfilling prophecy.”
FlashForward airs a new episode, "Black Swan," tomorrow night. »

Chicago – It comes to no surprise to hear that freshman series “FlashForward” got picked up for a full season by ABC, according to popular blogger Michael Ausiello.

Now that FlashForward has been officially expanded to a full first season fans can focus on the mystery at hand – and this week's episode, "Black Swan", looks like it has the potential to be explosive. The meaning behind that mysterious use of italics is just ahead.
It looks like Mark and Demitri have their hands on a particularly nasty perp. Why could this young man be stockpiling uranium? Is there a nuclear aspect to the event that caused the FlashForward, or does this nasty have something dirtier in mind? All of that and two more tantalizing tidbits below – including a clip with the so-far sadly underused Zachary Knighton. Black Swan airs Thursday, October 15th at 8:00pm/est on ABC.
