“Gossip Girl” may have been plagued with the eternal question of Dan, Nate or Chuck, but one of its stars was crushing on an entirely different CW star: Jared Padalecki. Taylor Momsen, who played Jenny Humphrey in “Gossip Girl,” opened up about her first love on Wednesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s “Podcrushed.”
“I had a huge crush, like my first childhood crush was on Jared Padalecki,” Momsen told “Podcrushed” co-host and her fellow “Gossip Girl” star Penn Badgley.
Momsen revealed that the first time she saw the “Supernatural” and “Gilmore Girls” star, she had “never been so starstruck in my life.”
“I went up and I was like, ‘He’s gonna fall in love with me. I’m in love with him. How can he not fall in love with me?’ and I went up to him and said ‘Hi,’ and he was so tall, and I had to look way up,...

The costume design in “Gossip Girl” has pieced together an iconic generation of fashion, with the Manhattan private-school students oozing privilege and extravagance with their signature headbands, tea-length shimmery gowns, piped blazers and plaid, school uniforms. And now, over a decade after the show’s inception, when social media is intertwining more and more with everyday life, costume designer Eric Daman — who worked on both the original show and this year’s reboot — was given the opportunity to create all new looks for HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl” through a Gen Z lens.
“I feel like I have a very fresh point of view about it,” Daman said to TheWrap. “I was just able to leave the past behind, look at this as a whole new beginning and a whole new storyline with all new characters and have a very fresh, open-minded point of view about it. As far as inspiration,...

When Gossip Girl viewers think of Blair Waldorf and Serena Van Der Woodsen, a certain aesthetic comes to mind. For Blair, her signature item was the ever-present headband and preppy skirt, while Serena was the first true boho chic babe. Those looks inspired an entire generation and Gossip Girl is ultimately to thank for many trends—remember the moment when Chuck Bass wore a pink polo? So, when costume designer Eric Daman returned to the Upper East Side to style the new generation of Constance Billard students, he knew that he had his work cut out for him. "I had a lot of anxiety actually. I had a lot of pressure that I put on myself," he told E! News in an exclusive interview. "Going...

Gossip Girl may have gone dark in 2012, but the site will have a whole new look when the series is rebooted later this year.
HBO Max on Friday dropped the first teaser for the highly-anticipated update of The CW drama, and they're a good lucking bunch.
But will they be a match for the likes of Serena, Blair, Nate, Chuck, and the others who dominated the original series?
We'll need to tune in to find out!
The teaser shows the cast at what looks to be a party, and the scene is perfectly narrated by original star Kristen Bell.
What we learn from the trailer is that Gossip Girl is, once again, watching every move of teenagers, reporting on what happens in their everyday lives.
Will this new iteration stir the pot?

HBO Max has dropped the first teaser for its “Gossip Girl” reboot series, featuring a new crop of teenage Upper East-Siders being surveilled by the titular, mysterious blogger. You know you love her (already), because the voice is that of Og “Gossip Girl” narrator Kristen Bell, who is reprising the audio-only role for the updated take on The CW teen drama.
“You’ve gotten so comfortable,” Bell’s Gossip Girl says over footage from the upcoming show, featuring stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith. “Thinking you’re in control of your image, your actions, the narrative, that you forgot one thing: I can see you. And before I’m through, I’ll make sure you see you, too. Xoxo, Gossip Girl.”

The moment Serena van der Woodsen stepped off the train at Grand Central Station with her tousled blonde hair, tan leather jacket and a brown Coach bag, her look from head to toe showed the “Gossip Girl” audience exactly who she was.
Every character on the show owned a signature detail — from Blair Waldorf’s headbands, Jenny Humphrey’s home-sewn dresses to Chuck Bass’ scarves — and their costumes remain timeless. And so does the 2007 drama series that followed the misadventures of New York City’s high schoolers.
Costume designer Eric Daman had just wrapped assisting on HBO’s “Sex and the City” when he received the offer to design “Gossip Girl.” Having planned to swar off scripted series, the designer nearly turned down the “career-changing move” before his boyfriend intervened.

People are definitely not how they appear in Showtime’s “Billions,” and their wardrobes can be very disarming. Nouveau riche financial wiz Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) dresses casually, whereas ruthless U.S. attorney Chuck Rhoades Jr. (Paul Giamatti) flaunts his pedigree.

The right stylist can make most people look good, but a select few, such as Carrie Bradshaw, are born fabulous.
Before she slipped into a tutu that she knew would work as day wear -- if you know how to work it -- she was a teenager with an innate sense of style. Carrie always had panache, as evidenced in The CW's "The Carrie Diaries," airing Mondays.
"The overall theme is she is in the '80s and coming of age," Eric Daman, the show's costume designer, tells Zap2it. "It wasn't all about Manolos. It was about finding the balance between Connecticut Carrie and growing and learning about fashion as she gets closer and closer to New York."
After her mom died, Carrie sought closeness to her through her clothes.
"Her mom's closet is like a Pandora's box, a Narnia of fashion," Daman says. "She mixes it up and may be a little eccentric.

Carrie Bradshaw wouldn’t be complete without her fabulous shoes or on-trend wardrobe, but that wasn't always the case. That is what the CW's The Carrie Diaries is all about. Based on the book by Candace Bushnell, the show looks at a teenage Carrie Bradshaw, played by AnnaSophia Robb, growing up in a small Connecticut town. So what about the clothes? “You hear Carrie Bradshaw and all you want to do is over-stylize,” says Eric Daman, the show’s costume designer. “Really great and really amazing. So we still want her to look really great and really fabulous,

As we inch our way closer to the series premiere of The Carrie Diaries, the chatter and excitement about the Sex and the City prequel has reached a boiling point.
But a few skeptics out there are already picking apart the series in comparison to its predecessor.
Having viewed the premiere, let me assure fellow Satc fans that I am very much one of you - from falling asleep to Sex and the City DVDs every night in college, to penning my own sex/love column in the school paper - and that you should definitely give The Carrie Diaries a chance.
Here are five reasons why:
The Carrie Diaries was originally a novel written by Candace Bushnell. Yes, the same Candace Bushnell who wrote Sex and the City all those years ago and served as the basis for the iconic character of Carrie Bradshaw. The writers/producers are aware of the small differences,...

It started with a headband. Ok, not really, but Gossip Girl's major impact on TV fashion seems to have started with the small but all-important accessory worn by Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), with the signature headgear acting as her crown. Gossip Girl's series finale airs tonight, and what better way to look back on the CW soap's six-year run than by having costume designer Eric Daman dish on his all-time favorite looks of one of TV's most iconic fashionistas? Like his picks for Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Daman reveals fun insider scoop on all of the looks, including the show's reference to Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady...

Has there ever been a more fashionable man on television than Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl? Don't answer that; it was a rhetorical question. Throughout six seasons, Chuck Bass has gifted us not only with legendary one-liners ("I'm Chuck Bass" being his signature) but iconic ensembles, full of bold colors (hello purple suits!) and standout accessories (his plaid scarf sold out immediately after he first wore it in season one!). To celebrate the sixth and final season of the CW hit, we asked Gossip Girl's celebrated costume designer Eric Daman, who is currently working on the network's Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, to select his 10 favorite Chuck Bass looks...

Though he's currently hard at work styling another iconic New York City fashion gal, 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb) on the CW's The Carrie Diaries, Daman reveals his top ten favorite looks on Gossip Girl... The season 5 DVD of Gossip Girl was released yesterday, and buzz is high for the show's sixth and final season, which will premiere on October 7. Gossip Girl owes a large part of its success to costume designer Eric Daman; the outfits he's put on the characters have informed recent fashion trends. Daman, who also worked on Sex and the City, recently let viewers into his life with a three-part web series, The Daman Chronicles. The series was created in partnership with jewelry designers Swarovski and was released on the culture-oriented Cambio channel. Tubefilter was lucky enough to chat with the sought-after stylist about his web venture. "I had been approached by several TV producers to do a reality show or something like that," explained Daman, "I'm kind of a private person. I didn't want cameras following me around, but [Swarovski] made me feel so comfortable and I know they really do...

This Texas-born actress costars on a show infamous for its sexy hookups. And now comes a photo of her on the set...in need of a zip-up! Some more hints on our mystery star: Her character has been the source of much speculation, particularly about which man she may choose as her show moves on into the sunset. So who is she? It's Leighton Meester, kindly revealing the sorts of no-nonsense bras that often go under those glam TV frocks. Whoever made that dress—costume designer Eric Daman, maybe?—we adore it...though we're not sure that the purple suede pumps are quite the right match. The good news? At least that bra is neutral.

Given the fact that costume designer Patricia Field's outrageous but brilliant Carrie Bradshaw outfits on Sex and the City are legendary, it's safe to say that expectations are pretty high for the wardrobe a young Carrie (played by AnnaSophia Robb) Bradshaw will sport in the 80s-set Carrie Diaries.
Luckily, experienced costume desiger Eric Daman (who's responsible for all the gorgeous Gossip Girl looks) is taking the reigns, and is dishing on all the awesome looks to come!

First off, we don’t think CW’s The Carrie Diaries is going to be geared toward lifelong Sex and the City fans: We’re just a tad bit older than the network’s target demo. But as our DVRs full of Vampire Diaries, Secret Circle and Gossip Girl episodes proves, our addiction to teen-oriented TV is unshakeable. So we’re tickled that the first official photo Warner Bros. released of AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie Bradshaw seems like a little nod to original TV show. I mean, the tutu-like crinoline under Robb’s spectacular dress can’t just be a coincidence, right?
