Clancy Brown is joining Showtime’s Dexter revival as a lead opposite Michael C. Hall, Deadline has confirmed.
Brown will play villain Kurt Caldwell. Per the official description: “Caldwell was born and raised in the town of Iron Lake. In fact, some consider him the unofficial mayor of their small town. He’s realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone – he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for… God help you.”
Hall, who starred as the title character in the 2006-13 series, returns for the revival along with showrunner Clyde Phillips.
The original followed Dexter Morgan, who was a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the...

There’s a reason I love the horror genre so much, and it’s not because of the quality of the films. In one of the most unlikely combinations of people to ever collaborate on a project, Clancy Brown, Aka Kurgan from Highlander, has officially joined the cast of Nothing to Fear, a horror thriller being produced by none other than former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, Slash. Along with the Steve Niles-directed Wake the Dead, the movie is one of the first from his company Slasher Films.
Directed by creature and storyboard artist Anthony Leonardi III, Nothing to Fear also stars Anne Heche (Rampart, the upcoming That’s What She Said), James Tupper (Mr. Popper’s Penguins) and another new cast member, Ethan Peck (In Time). The plot focuses on a family trying to start a new life in a small Kansas town, only to find out that their...

Director Jon Favreau has added three additional actors to his impressive "Cowboys & Aliens" posse.
Paul Dano, Keith Carradine and Clancy Brown have all signed on to appear in "Cowboys & Aliens," according to Deadline. Dano and Brown are slated to play cowboys while Carradine has reportedly been cast as the town sheriff. The report also states that the film will be shot in 2-D, rather than in 3-D as it was rumored back in January.
Dano has previously appeared in numerous films, including "Where the Wild Things Are" and "There Will Be Blood;" while Carradine's resume spans several decades and includes recent appearances on "Damages" and "Dollhouse." Brown is perhaps best known for his roles as The Kurgan in "Highlander" and Brother Justin Crowe on the cult HBO series, "Carnivale."
However, Brown has also worked extensively on several comic book related animated series, including "Justice League," "Batman: The Brave and the Bold,...
