WestEnd Films has closed a series of new deals on “Out of the Blue,” an upcoming thriller that brings together Neil Labute and Diane Kruger.
Rights for the film, which Labute writes and directs, have gone to Australia and New Zealand (Kismet Movies), France (Metropolitan Filmexport), Germany (Koch Films), Spain (A Contracorriente Films), Italy (Eagle Pictures), Middle East (Phoenicia Pictures) Israel (Forum Film), Poland (Galapagos Films), Greece (Spentzos Film), former Yugoslavia (Investacommerce) and Portugal (Nos Lusomundo). WestEnd is also sharing a moody first-look image.

Paramount Worldwide Acquisition Group has locked down worldwide distribution rights to the action-thriller Sheroes, starring Sasha Luss (Anna), Wallis Day (Infinite), Isabelle Fuhrman (The Novice), Skai Jackson (Jesse) and Jack Kesy (Without Remorse), which recently wrapped production in Thailand. Plans for its release have not yet been disclosed.
The film written and directed by Spring Breakers producer Jordan Gertner follows four girlfriends as they set out for an adventure in Thailand. Their paradise is quickly turned upside down when they find themselves in the crosshairs of the local cartel. Employing their own unique set of skills, the girls fight to save their lives and, if possible, their friendship.

Quiver Distribution continues its push into production with Toronto sales title and upcoming dramatic thriller Out Of The Blue from Neil Labute to star Diane Kruger and Ray Nicholson.

Saban Films has nabbed U.S. rights to Nicol Paone’s feature directing debut Friendsgiving, the ensemble comedy starring Malin Akerman (Rampage), Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) and Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).
Film follows a glamorous, newly divorced actor, and her recently-dumped lesbian best friend. Together, along with their motley crew of close friends and strange acquaintances, they host a dysfunctional, comical and chaotic Thanksgiving dinner.
The cast also features Christine Taylor (Zoolander) Jane Seymour (Wedding Crashers), Aisha Tyler (Archer), Deon Cole (Black-ish), Wanda Sykes (Black-ish), Margaret Cho and Fortune Feimster (The Mindy Project).
Akerman is also producing along with Ben Stiller, Nicholas Weinstock and Haroon Saleem for Red Hour Films with Tara L. Craig executive producing.
