The teaser for the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai depicts white belts practicing, kids in street clothes punching what looks like tennis balls, and Ralph Macchio showing absolutely no shame as he recites the cringe-inducing phrase, “Love the smell of karate in the afternoon.” Despite this, his character, original Karate Kid Daniel Larusso, is able to pull it together long enough to face off with his decades-old nemesis Johnny Lawrence (actor William Zabka) previewing the feud at the heart of the series.

Outside of "strike first, strike hard, no mercy," the Cobra Kai dojo's enduring motto is "Cobra Kai never dies!" That may be true, but the show that brought the Karate Kid story successfully to small screens is ending. We've known since earlier this year that Cobra Kai would be wrapping up, and now Netflix has released a teaser for what promises to be an epic, three-chunk finale stretching across this year and into next. Check it out…
Yes, as with some of the streaming service's other big hits, the final run will, like a karate master breaking boards, be split in three, with the first part landing on 18 July, the second arriving on 28 November and the third on an unspecified date in 2025. And given that the expanded farewell season features 15 episodes, we'd guess five episodes per chunk (but there's no word on that).

When Netflix launched the Cobra Kai series back in 2021, many fans were excited and the series has, indeed, become one of the streaming service’s biggest assets. Cobra Kai season 6: Netflix announces premiere dates for 15 episode, 3 part conclusion to the series
Production on the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, was delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes last year – but the extended wait is going to be worth it, because Netflix has just announced that the show is wrapping up with a 15 episode season (previous seasons consisted of 10 episodes), and they’re splitting the episodes up to make it a three part event! As they put it, “The end of a legacy… deserves a Grand Finale.” They’ve also revealed premiere dates: Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 premieres July 18, 2024. Part 2 premieres November 28, 2024. The Finale Event comes in 2025.
I’m hyped to finally have premiere dates for most of the episodes, because this show has become one of my all-time favorites over the course of the previous five seasons. I grew up on the Karate Kid movies and always enjoyed them,...

And you thought waiting for the back half of a “Stranger Things” season was agonizing. Netflix is splitting the final season of “Cobra Kai,” Season 6, into three parts.
You read that right. Though it has become commonplace for Netflix to divide new seasons of its biggest hits into two parts, this is the first time the streamer has split a season (of any series) into thirds. The next-up example of a hit Netflix original being halved is mere weeks away. The eight-episode “Bridgerton” Season 3 will premiere the first four on May 16 and the back half on June 13.

When Cobra Kai returns to Netflix for its sixth and final season, the Karate Kid spinoff plans to expand the Miyagiverse significantly. The teen-focused drama Crane kicked martial arts action fans in the face in 2018, building on the Karate Kid legacy started by Ralph Macchio (Daniel Larusso), William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence), and Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi). With every season, Cobra Kai has grown through fan-service casting, interpersonal drama, and hard-hitting action. No one could have predicted the Miyagiverse would expand the way it has because of Cobra Kai, and now the show’s co-creator, Jon Hurwitz, says fans can expect Season 6 to explore the franchise in exciting ways like never before!
In a thread on Twitter/X, Hurwitz assured fans the final season of the series delivers big surprises, in-depth character flashbacks, and plot elements that expand the Miyagiverse.
“Season 6 expands the ‘Karate Kid/Cobra Kai’ universe more than the first 5 seasons combined.

Many fans wonder when Season 6 of Cobra Kai will finally be released on Netflix, especially if it will be before the end of 2024.
Season 5 of Cobra Kai saw Thomas Ian Griffith's Terry Silver finally defeated by Ralph Macchio's Daniel Larusso. The previous installment's ending also teased what was to come in Season 6, when Martin Kove's John Kreese faked his own death and escaped from prison.
On January 20, 2023, Netflix greenlit a sixth and final season of the show but didn't provide any updates on when it could be released.

The number of actors the Netflix TV series Cobra Kai has brought back to reprise their characters from the Karate Kid films has been very impressive. Not only do you have Ralph Macchio and William Zabka back as Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence, but there’s also Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith as villains John Kreese and Terry Silver, Yuji Okumoto and Sean Kanan as villains-turned-allies Chozen Toguchi and Mike Barnes; Ron Thomas, Rob Garrison, and Tony O’Dell as Johnny’s former Cobra Kai buddies; and appearances by Elisabeth Shue as Ali Mills, Tamlyn Tomita as Kumiko, and Robyn Lively as Jessica Andrews. They even brought Traci Toguchi back as Yuna, the “Girl Bell Ringer” she played in The Karate Kid Part II. But one actor who might not be returning from the films is Hilary Swank, who played Julie Pierce in the 1994 film The Next Karate Kid.

The show is celebrating by releasing a video that commences the production of the final season, with the cast trying their best to contain their excitement and not give away any spoilers.

Rumor has it that Netflix was originally planning to release the sixth and final season of their hit series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, this month. The cast and crew were heading into production back in May (Netflix even released some table read footage) – but then the writers strike hit, causing filming to shut down. The TV sequel to "Karate Kid" became a shining beacon amidst the fast-decaying YouTube Red streaming platform, offering a thrilling, compelling, and endlessly watchable story with complex characters and a fascinating story of legacy, rivalry, and generational patterns. All of this wrapped in a juicy karate-themed soap opera where everything and everyone revolved around the martial art.
When the show made the jump to Netflix, it became the closest thing to a live-action anime that we've got. Somehow, just like the "John Wick" movies revealed that the entire planet revolves around hitmen, "Cobra Kai" does the same with karate. Gangs are formed around competing dojos, no one seems to call the cops even when houses...

When the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai Crane kicks its way onto Netflix, it could leave some questions unanswered in the interest of continuing the story in possible spin-offs. Speaking with Collider‘s Perri Nemiroff, Cobra Kai showrunners Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald said “closure” isn’t part of their grand plan for the Miyagi-verse. This statement is bold in an entertainment landscape where fans typically like things wrapped up with a big, red bow. However, some stories can’t end in a universe with limitless potential.
Hinting at Cobra Kai spin-offs, Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Heald told Nemiroff, “We will never give actual closure when it comes to anything. We love working in the ‘Cobra Kai’ universe, so there’s always potential to revisit that world. We’re certainly thinking about other ideas within the Miyagi-verse, and it’s only a matter of time before...

“Cobra Kai never dies” – that may be true, but all good things must come to an end, including the hit Netflix show that announced the upcoming sixth season will be its last. The series that has quickly become a cult classic (just like the original film) centers around the premise of karate and the two different styles/variations of the martial art that Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) teach to their students. Despite airing more than thirty years after the original movie premiered, Cobra Kai has risen to be one of Netflix’s top shows of all time and will be sorely missed by it’s beloved fans.
Despite the inevitable disappointment from fans who would love to see the series continue on, audiences can rest assured knowing that the sixth and final season will be bigger and better than all the others, as promised by the shows creators.

It sounds like season 6 of Cobra Kai will be the last. Fans don’t want to hear this, but looking over the past five seasons, it’s easy to think that the story needs to find a satisfying end. It’s very easy to look back at season 5 as a fitting endgame. But it’s fair to say there are a couple of loose ends to wrap up. As shown at the end of the episode, John Kreese, portrayed by Martin Kove, managed to escape. There’s no telling what kind of mood he will be in. Then there’s Terry Silver, who was

Martin Kove is one actor who has absolutely no problem playing the villain and bad guy in movies. He once noted that he loved the idea of being hated because of his film characters. If there’s a silver lining here, it shows how well the actor delivers superb movie performances. Martin Kove is much more than his characters, and getting to know him makes him more human, who’s not just about “sweeping the leg” and “showing no mercy”. Everybody’s gonna be kung fu fighting…for another season, anyway. “Cobra Kai,” the “Karate Kid” sequel series, has been renewed for a sixth and final season at Netflix, the streamer announced January 20.
“Reacquainting the world with ‘The Karate Kid’ universe has been our humble honor,” series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg wrote in a statement posted to social media. “Making ‘Cobra Kai’ has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and all the amazing original cast members. It has also enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.
“Our day one goal with ‘Cobra Kai’ has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined.

The Cobra Kai karate dojo is coming to a close. Netflix's much-loved "The Karate Kid" sequel series is set to end with its upcoming sixth season, according to a statement shared by co-creator Hayden Schlossberg on Twitter. "The upcoming Season Six will mark the conclusion of 'Cobra Kai,'" Schlossberg and co-creators Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz wrote.
While viewers will no doubt be sad to see the decades-long story of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) come to an end, it sounds like this conclusion has been in the works for a while. In the statement, the co-creators wrote:
Our day one goal with 'Cobra Kai' has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we've always imagined. So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement.

The trio also promised it will be the biggest and baddest season of them all.
The one-minute video announcement features Daniel Larussa (Ralph Macchio) musing on his complicated past with Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). “The training, the tournaments, the rivalries, the lessons…it hasn’t always been smooth.
