- In the Godfather films, Diane Keaton plays an American Protestant who marries into a large Italian Catholic family. This is not unlike Eleanor herself, who married into the Coppola family. Actually, Keaton has said that her performance was inspired by Eleanor.

- Eleanor Jessie Coppola passed away on April 12, 2024, only one month away from what would have been her 88th birthday on May 4, 2024. She had Irish ancestry.
- She attended and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a degree in applied design and was a member of the women's fraternity Alpha Chi Omega (Alpha Psi chapter).
