Combining tragedy and absurdity in the same television show without diluting either aspect is a tall order. In that regard, NBC’s limited series “The Thing About Pam” achieves something extraordinary: It tells its true story with sensitivity and poignancy while simultaneously being raucous and hilarious. In bringing the stranger-than-fiction tale of Midwestern murderer Pam Hupp (Renée Zellweger) to life, the filmmakers combined scrupulous research with a meticulously crafted and psychologically expressive visual design to create a tone unlike anything else on television.
For showrunner Jenny Klein, the trick was juxtaposing Pam’s bizarre personality with an awareness of the real and immense pain caused by her actions. “We went into the show with the knowledge that we needed to balance this story that’s so disturbing and tragic with the totally absurd details that come from Pam’s over-the-top behavior,” she said. While Pam is the story’s focus,...

Khloé Kardashian Odom can make her assault and battery suit go away—that is, if the price is right. Chantal Spears, the transgender woman (also known as Ronald Spears) who sued Khloé back in December claiming the E! reality star roughed her up in December 2009, is offering to drop her lawsuit if Kardashian Odom pays her a whopping $150,000. According to a letter dated April 3 from Spears' attorney, Mary Cochran, to Khloé's legal eagle Shawn Holly, Chantal let it be known that she's willing to forget the whole thing if Kim Kardashian's sis settles all of her claims out of court. The fisticuffs allegedly broke out outside the Playhouse nightclub on Hollywood's Sunset...

Like Amanda Bynes before her, Lindsay Lohan has allegedly been dropped by her publicist, this time a gentleman by the name of Steve Honig. We know what you’re thinking: “Lindsay Lohan had a publicist?” Just kidding! Kind of. According to TMZ, Honig allegedly quit after gross-dad Michael Lohan flipped out on him, texting Steve that he was a “f—ing liar” and genuinely acting like a fool. Even more bizarrely, apparently it was Michael Lohan himself who reported this story to TMZ. Why would he ever want anyone to find out what he did? Papa Lohan is clearly disconnected from reality, which makes us wonder…is Lindsay’s ongoing tale of woe the result of Michael Lohan’s constant interference? Like some kind of career and relationship poltergeist?
Well, we guess that still wouldn’t explain Dina Lohan’s Dr. Phil appearance or, well, Lindsay’s driving record. Apparently...

Kelly Overton‘s Gluteus Maximus Muscle in Tekken (2010) is always on display. Kelly Overton and her gluteus Maximus Tekken outfits, in some circles, could earn costume designer Shawn Holly Cookson an award of some kind (probably Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards) for trying to sell the film in such a salacious and audacious way. Nothing can save Tekken from being the mediocre (a kindness) fight film that it is though but Kelly Overton and her gluteus maximus muscle do try.
We reviewed it and the rest of the film here: Film Review: Tekken (2010). For your edification: The original Mortal Kombat movie is better than Tekken. Mortal Kombat: Legacy completely blows it away. Jean-Claude Van Damme‘s Street Fighter is better than Tekken. S.T.R.E.E.T. F.I.G.H.T.E.R.! Below is the best ass-pect of Dwight H. Little‘s Tekken.

Every time we think Michael Lohan has outdone himself in the terrible parenting category, he goes ahead and takes it to another level. After today’s scandalous reports about Lindsay Lohan paying off rehab accuser Dawn Holland, it turns out that father Michael Lohan agreed to pay Holland $25,000, and is blabbing about every detail. “Dawn has had her attorney meet with me, negotiate with me and even propose a ‘deal’ with me, her lawyer and Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holly (Chapman) and while I agreed to Dawn Holland’s initial ‘number’, to procure financial stability due to getting fired, she got greedy and took it to another level,” Lohan admits. Michael must have been pretty impressed to have finally met his slimy match.
Michael still somehow believes that it’s Holland who is going to be injured by this exchange, not his actress daughter. “I believe that the courts and public will see,...
