Oregon and Washington have finalized a deal to join the Big Ten beginning in the 2024-25 season, moves that likely are the death blow to the century-old Pac-12.
The schools formally applied for membership Friday and were accepted after a Big Ten vote later in the day.
Update: Arizona State and Utah were unanimously voted in to Big 12 membership on Friday night. They join former Pac-12 member Arizona. The Big 12 now has 16 teams for the 2024 season.
“We are thrilled to welcome Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah to the Big 12,” commissioner Brett Yormark said in a statement. “The Conference is gaining three premier institutions both academically and athletically, and the entire Big 12 looks forward to working alongside their presidents, athletic directors, student-athletes and administrators.”
Earlier: Fellow Pac-12 schools are also on the move. Arizona applied to and was admitted to the Big 12 on Friday, according to reports, although the deal has not been finalized.

'Shedding for the Wedding' premiere brings out best and worst in TV, weight loss, weddings, humanity
How’s that for an all-encompassing headline? This show is everything, ever! The CW’s new couples weight loss series Shedding for the Wedding debuted tonight after the cycle 16 premiere of America’s Next Top Model. So far, I like it much better than The Tired and Boring Biggest Loser and any other reality show that deals with self-involved bitches obsessing over Their Big Day. Out of nine couples, only a few are truly obnoxious, and some are actually likable!
The nine couples must dress in the same color (just like on The Biggest Loser) and have assigned themselves a dream wedding theme.
