As if to magically coincide with the announcement that the film will be screening as part of this year Glasgow Frightfest, Lionsgate have released a new UK poster and trailer for Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman’s Ghost Stories which stars the aforementioned Nyman, alongside Martin Freeman, Alex Lawther, Paul Whitehouse, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
Phillip Goodman, professor of psychology, arch-skeptic, the one-man ‘belief buster’ – has his rationality tested to the hilt when he receives a letter apparently from beyond the grave. His mentor Charles Cameron, the ‘original’ TV parapsychologist went missing fifteen years before, presumed dead and yet now he writes to Goodman saying that the pair must meet. Cameron, it seems, is still very much alive. And he needs Goodman to find a rational explanation for three stories that have shaken Cameron to his core. As Goodman investigates, he meets three haunted people, each with a tale more frightening,...

Ghost Stories was one of the highlights of last year’s London Film Festival. The new feature film from writing and directing partners Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman was adapted from the Olivier nominated stage show, and has made the translation to the big screen in fine fashion.
Nyman leads the anthology film as a professor who, very filrmly, does not believe in the supernatural. As the trailer tells us he begins a journey with three unexplained cases that will shake his beliefs to the core. Nyman is joined by Martin Freeman, Paul Whitehouse and rising star Alex Lawther in the film, and the trailer below gives us a terrifying insight into what Dyson and Nyman have in store for us.

The film is out in cinemas on the 13th of April (that’s Friday the 13th…), here’s the trailer.

Martin Freeman leads the cast for the acclaimed movie take on Ghost Stories. Take a look...
After premiering to lots of acclaim at the London Film Festival, the movie take on stage success Ghost Stories now has a cinema release date. We don’t get the movie until Friday 13th April 2018, but the adaptation of Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson’s production promises to be worth the wait.
And promotional work is underway. A quartet of character posters has been released for the film, that we’ve popped in a gallery so you can make them nice and big. Click on the poster at the top and they should magically appear.
The film itself stars Martin Freeman, Alex Lawther, Andy Nyman, Paul Whitehouse and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith. Dyson and Nyman co-direct and have penned the screenplay too.
Here are three teaser trailers that have also been released…

Jeremy Dyson, best known for his screenwriting work on British TV series The League of Gentlemen, crafted a bona fide scarefest with 2010’s stage show Ghost Stories in tandem with co-writer Andy Nyman. More than half a decade later and Dyson and Nyman are primed to reunite once more, this time to transition the play from the boards to the silver screen.
That’s according to Screen International, revealing that the production has already tapped Sherlock and The Hobbit actor Martin Freeman along with George MacKay. They’ll star opposite Nyman himself, who assumed the role of Professor Phillip Goodman in the original stage show. Described as a “professor of psychology and arch-skeptic,” Goodman is a character that has “rationality tested to the hilt when he receives a letter apparently from beyond the grave.” Very spooky indeed.
What really drives home the fear factor for Nyman’s character is that...
