A 58-year-old man who was once a licensed foster parent is behind bars this week in Texas, where he stands accused of sexually assaulting five children who lived with him between 2005 and 2010, People confirms.
Miguel Briseno took in more than 180 young girls as a foster parent before the state revoked his license seven years ago, according to a spokesman with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The spokesman tells People that authorities in two Texas counties firmly believe there are more victims out there.
A joint investigation between investigators in Bexar and Medina counties led to Briseno’s recent arrest.

The 22-year-old YouTube sensation was fatally shot late Friday after opening for pop-rock band Before You Exit at the Plaza Live venue in Orlando, Florida. Several of Grimmie's friends, and her brother Marcus, who was hailed as a hero by police after tackling the gunman, paid tribute to the former Voice finalist. "She loved this town, she loved this state, she loved singing, she loved the Lord and she loved me and she was my baby sister," Marcus told the crowd,...

Led by Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake, Trouble with the Curve has already seen its release Stateside, and is thankfully now just on the cusp of reaching theatres here in the UK.
The film marks Eastwood’s first time in front of the camera since 2008’s Gran Torino, and we’ve got a great new trailer to share ahead of its release at the end of the month.
“Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood) has been one of the best scouts in baseball for decades, but, despite his efforts to hide it, age is starting to catch up with him. Nevertheless, Gus—who can tell a pitch just by the crack of the bat—refuses to be benched for what could be the final innings of his career.
He may not have a choice. The front office of the Atlanta Braves is starting to question his judgment, especially with the...

Check out the new poster for Trouble With The Curve. What’s everyone think? As a fan of sports-themed films, I really like the stature of the baseball park towering in the background of the poster. Add to it that the timing of the film’s release is perfect for the waning days of the 2012 Mlb regular season.

Scott Eastwood has joined his Dad in Trouble With The Curve, a baseball-centric drama that marks Clint’s first acting gig since 2008′s Gran Torino.
Written by Randy Brown and to be directed by Clint’s long time business partner Robert Lorenz, the film follows Eastwood as an aging scout who is slowly losing his vision. As his career dwindles to a close, he takes one final trip with his daughter to Atlanta to check out prospective players.
Amy Adams plays the daughter, Justin Timberlake the ex-pitcher turned scout who is attracted to her, John Goodman a fellow scout and friend to Clint who still believes his pal has the skills to find great players.
Variety says Scott Eastwood joins as an under-performing player who Eastwood still believes has the talent and won’t give up on. Scott, who had to audition to win the part, has had small roles in Gran Torino,...

[1] It's probably a bit soon to celebrate Matthew Lillard's unlikely rise as a dramatic actor, but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on his career for now. After a small but impressive turn opposite George Clooney in Alexander Payne's The Descendants, the former Scooby-Doo star has now entered talks for another promising dramatic role, this time opposite Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams in Robert Lorenz' Trouble With the Curve. Not bad at all for a guy who's still best remembered for playing second fiddle to a CGI Great Dane. More details after the jump. Written by Randy Brown, Trouble With the Curve stars Eastwood as an aging baseball scout who's slowly going blind. He decides to take his daughter (Adams) along on one last road trip to Atlanta, where they'll evaluate a promising young player. Entertainment Weekly [2] reports that Lillard is negotiating to play another baseball scout.

Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side) is in early talks to star opposite Clint Eastwood (Gran Torino) in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Trouble with the Curve.
Penned by Randy Brown, Trouble with the Curve will tell of a veteran baseball scout (Eastwood) who journeys to Atlanta with his daughter (Bullock) to see a talented player.
Robert Lorenz, who’s served as first assistant director on a number of Eastwood’s directorial efforts, will make his directorial debut with the drama, which is expected to film early next year.
Bullock will next be seen in the heavily buzzed-about Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which is due to open in the U.K. on February 3, 2012.

As Clint Eastwood's daughter. Despite the general consensus that 2008's Gran Torino was to be Clint Eastwood's last role in front of the camera, there have been loud rumblings this week that the legendary actor will star in baseball drama, Trouble With The Curve. Eastwood was due to start filming A Star is Born with Beyonce, but her pregnancy has caused production to be delayed for a number of months. Never one to hang around, it seems that Eastwood has agreed to star in Trouble With The Curve, to be directed by his long-term production partner and assistant director Robert Lorenz. Eastwood and Lorenz's own company, Malpaso, is set to handle the production based on a script by Randy Brown. We reported last week on Clint Eastwood looking to put the Beyonce pregnancy delay on A Star is Born to good, if unexpected use by agreeing to star for the first time in years in a film he isn't directing. Now it looks like he might have a co-star for Trouble with the Curve, as Sandra Bullock is apparently in talks to sign on.
Curve, which is being planned as the directorial debut of Clint's regular producing partner/ assistant director Robert Lorenz (hence why the actor is even considering the idea), will star Eastwood as a baseball scout nearing the end of his career who also happens to be battling the slow encroachment of blindness.
To that end, he decides to take his daughter on his latest trip to Atlanta, where he's going to see a likely future star player. According to Twitch, Bullock is Eastwood and Lorenz' top choice to play that role,...

Sanrda Bullock is currently in talks to star alongside Clint Eastwood in a new film being developed for Warner Bros. called Trouble With the Curve. The film is set to be directed by Eastwood's Malpaso partner Robert Lorenz, and this film would mark his directorial debut.
The script was written by Randy Brown and the story follows an aging baseball scout played by Eastwood with failing eyesight who travels to Atlanta with his daughter to scout a young prospect. Bullock would play Eastwoods daughter in the story. Bullock is a very talented and likable actress, and I think it would be great if she ends up officially being cast in this movie.
The last time Eastwood starred in a film under a director other than himself was In the Line of Fire back in 1993 under the direction of Wolfgang Peterson. I think Eastwood and Bullock could make a great team on the big screen.

Twitch say Oscar winner Sandra Bullock is in talks to play Clint Eastwood’s daughter in Trouble With The Curve, a new Warner Bros drama about a close to retiring and losing his sight baseball scout who takes one final trip with his daughter to Atlanta to check out a hot shot new talent.

It appears Eastwood has since committed to the film, in which he'll play a baseball scout who hits the road with his daughter. Now the obvious question is who'll get cast as the female lead. Given the pedigree of the project, Eastwood and Lorenz probably have plenty of well-regarded actresses to choose from, so naturally they've got their eye on one of the biggest stars around. Over the past few years, Clint Eastwood has been taking more turns directing films than acting, giving us seven films as a director in the past five years (including the upcoming J. Edgar) and just one in which he’s acted – Gran Torino.

Clint Eastwood has stayed busy behind the camera over the past decade, but not so much in front of it. Throughout the 2000s he acted in only four films, and at one point he claimed that his role in Gran Torino might be his last. Thankfully for cinephiles, Eastwood has found another part that will allow him to showcase his curmudgeonly demeanor. He's currently in negotiations to star in Trouble with the Curve, which tells the story of an aging baseball scout who is losing his vision. Together with his daughter, he takes one last road trip to Atlanta to scout a hotshot prospect. While Eastwood would star in the film, he won't be taking on directorial duties this time out. That job will instead belong to Robert Lorenz, a long-time business partner to Eastwood as well as an assistant director on some of his previous films. Eastwood's production company,...

Clint Eastwood may return to acting once again in Trouble With The Curve, a baseball drama intended as the directorial debut of producer Robert Lorenz. A partner in Eastwood’s Malpaso Productions, Lorenz has worked alongside the Hollywood icon for nearly a decade, dating back to when he worked on 2002’s Blood Work as a producer and occasional second unit director.
Curve, written by Randy Brown, is a story about an aging baseball scout losing his eyesight who goes on a last road trip with his daughter to scout a hot prospect in Atlanta.
Bennett Miller’s Moneyball will invariably come up, but the themes actually fit rather snugly. Brad Pitt’s younger, new-era manager urges the aged curmudgeons on his scouting staff to change their thinking while realizing the importance of family. Then Eastwood makes his final lap around the bases with his own family, possibly as his last role.

After taking a three year retirement from acting, Clint Eastwood is headed back in front of the camera. Deadline is reporting that Eastwood is in talks to star in the baseball drama "Trouble with the Curve." It is the directorial debut of Eastwood's business partner, Robert Lorenz.

Clint Eastwood does not like to sit around waiting. He likes to make movies, and has rarely been idle in his decades in the industry. So, when Beyonce became pregnant and put his "A Star is Born" remake into limbo (thank goodness), it wasn't surprising that he immediately started looking for a new project. What is surprising is that he's decided not to grab another directing gig, but an acting one, his first since "Gran Torino" in 2008. Eastwood is in talks to star in "Trouble With the Curve," the feature directing debut of his longtime producing partner, Robert Lorenz. Scripted by Randy Brown, it's really your classic "older Eastwood" project, as he plays an aging baseball scout who goes on a roadtrip with his daughter. I'm sure that daughter will be estranged, and he will be cranky, but slowly they will realize the other is awesome. I don't care if it's that predictable,...

After having directing a couple of award-winning movies, Clint Eastwood is looking to return to acting with Trouble with the Curve, reports Deadline. This will be the first movie he has acted in since 2008’s Gran Torino.
Directed by Robert Lorenz and penned by Randy Brown, Trouble with the Curve will tell the story of a baseball scout (Eastwood) who is losing his sight due againg. He and his daughter take a final road trip to Atlandta to check out a prospective talent.
This isn’t the first time that Eastwood and Lorenz has worked together. The two previously worked on Bridges of Madison County where Lorenz acted as assistant director.
2008’s Gran Torino was thought to be Eastwood’s last leading role in a movie in his long and iconic career. But he has never said that he would retire and is open to the idea of another role.

When Clint Eastwood played the lead role in his 2008 film Gran Torino, we thought it might be his last screen role. The icon never retired from acting, and has remained open to the idea of taking another role. (I've always hoped to see Quentin Tarantino roping him into a film.) Eastwood has, however, talked about the lack of great roles for older actors, and has seemed content to work as a director and composer. He said earlier this year, "actors are like boxers — they stay too long sometimes." But now Clint is in talks to play a primary role in the baseball drama Trouble With the Curve. The movie would be directed by his producer Robert Lorenze, who has also worked as the assistant director on several Eastwood projects going back as far as his first Second Assistant Director duties for Eastwood on the 1995 Bridges of Madison County. EW [1] says...

Clint Eastwood has been saying that "Gran Torino" is likely his last acting gig, but the director is now in talks to step in front of the camera again for the baseball drama, "Trouble With the Curve." The script, by Randy Brown, centers on an aging baseball scout, who is losing his sight and heads on a last road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to scout a hotshot prospect. The film will be directed by Eastwood's longtime producing partner Robert Lorenz, who will be making his helming debut. Outside of producing, Lorenz's credits include working as an assistant director on "The Bridges of Madison County" and "Million Dollar Baby." If this happens, it will be because Beyonce Knowles got pregnant. The signer was set to star in Eastwood's "A Star is Born" remake, but her pregnancy has pushed the film back, leaving the director without a project.

As anticipation builds for his J. Edgar Hoover biopic which premieres at the AFI next month, surprising news comes in from Deadline that says director Clint Eastwood, 81, is looking to step back in front of the camera for his next outing.
Eastwood is close to agreeing a deal to star in the baseball drama Trouble With the Curve where he would play an aging scout who is slowly losing his vision. As his career dwindles to a close, he takes one final trip with his daughter to Atlanta to check out prospective players. Perhaps because she was supposed to be in J. Edgar but the schedules couldn’t work out, we immediately thought of Charlize Theron for the role of the daughter.

I'm a Clint Eastwood fan, but I'm not one of those fans that believes he can do no wrong. It seems more and more people are coming around to the idea he's been off his game as a director recently, but what about as an actor?
Eastwood's last outing as an actor was in Gran Torino in 2008. At the time he was quoted saying, "That will probably do it for me as far as acting is concerned... You don't want to be like a fighter who stays too long in the ring until you're not performing at your best." Well, it seems the 81-year-old has a little left in the tank.
EW is reporting Eastwood is in talks to star in the baseball drama Trouble With the Curve as a veteran scout who takes his daughter on the road with him. The screenplay was written by Randy Brown.

It has been 18 years since Clint Eastwood has acted in a film that he wasn't also directing. Back in 1993 he starred as Frank Horrigan, a secret service agent trying to protect the president of the United States from a psychotic John Makovich, in Wolfgang Petersen's In The Line of Fire, but the eight performances since have been given while working double duty. Apparently he's now ready to break that nearly two decade-long streak. Eastwood is now considering starring in Trouble With The Curve, a new baseball drama. According to Deadline, the movie will be helmed by Robert Lorenz, who is largely known for his work as an assistant director on Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, and Blood Work and is a producer for Eastwood's Malpaso Productions. The script was written by Randy Brown. Should he sign on, the actor-turned-director will play a baseball scout who is slowly losing his eyesight.

Clint Eastwood is currently in talks to star in a new film for Warner Bros. called Trouble With the Curve. Eastwood has recently taken a back seat with the acting and has been focusing on directing his awesome films. The last film he starred in was Gran Torino, but he also directed the film. He will not be directing this one, this new film will end up being directed by Eastwood's Malpaso partner Robert Lorenz, and it would be his directorial debut. The last time Eastwood starred in a film under a director other than himself was In the Line of Fire back in 1993 under the direction of Wolfgang Peterson. Eastwood and Lorenz still have yet to close their deals with the studio, but it should all fall into place soon.

Breaking: While Clint Eastwood was expected to follow directing J Edgar by directing A Star Is Born with Beyonce, her pregnancy has put that project off. Instead, I hear he’s seriously looking at starring in Trouble With The Curve, a project at Warner Bros that will mark the feature directorial debut of his Malpaso partner Robert Lorenz. The Randy Brown-scripted film is about an aging baseball scout, who’s losing his sight, and heads on a last road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to scout a hotshot prospect. They will lock Eastwood and Lorenz’s deals before setting an actress to play the daughter. Malpaso will produce. Aside from being Eastwood’s longtime business partner, Lorenz has been assistant director on many of Eastwood’s films, including Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River and Blood Work.

It’s been eighteen years since Clint Eastwood appeared on screen in something that he didn’t also direct. But with his next planned project – the latest version of oft-remade drama A Star is Born – delayed while female lead Beyonce to give birth, he’s now pondering filling the unexpected gap with a little thesping work, in Trouble with the Curve. The drama, written by Randy Brown, finds an aging baseball scout battling trouble with his vision. He and his daughter travel to Atlanta to see a likely star player in the making. And the film will also possibly boast a first-time director, albeit one Eastwood has more than a passing familiarity with: Robert Lorenz, who just so happens to be his business partner in production company Malpaso. Lorenz has also worked as an assistant director on many of Eastwood’s films, so he’s had quite the education.According to Deadline,...

As first reported by Mother Jones, yesterday, the Minnesota state Gop released a video whose sole purpose is to show just how hawt Republican women are and how fug their Democrat counterparts are. Well, well, well. How classy. Now, given that the video (embedded below) is positively comical in its hackneyedness and looks like Michele Bachmann’s pet goldfish slapped the thing together with a budget of $0.50, it’s barely worth commenting on. But since commenting on pop cultural matters is what we do here at PopWatch, comment on it I shall.
