Vince Staples, the young and talented American rapper and singer, has been making waves in the music industry with his unique style and thought-provoking lyrics. Born Vincent Jamal Staples on July 2, 1993, in Compton, California, he later moved to North Long Beach to escape the high crime rates of his hometown. Just weeks after the late rapper Tupac Shakur received a Hollywood star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, police footage has been released of the search of a Las Vegas home in connection with his 1996 murder.
The search of the home of Duane Keith David, also known as Keffe D, was shown on police body cam video. David is one of two remaining eyewitnesses to the drive-by murder of Shakur on the Vegas strip.
Just weeks ago, Shakur’s sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, received the Walk Of Fame award on his behalf.
She spoke at the event saying, “From the first time he stepped foot on the stage of the Apollo Theater at 13, before anyone recognized his name, he knew he had the dream to have a star here on the Walk of Fame. Today, we’re not just honoring a star in the ground, but we’re honoring the...

Be careful what you wish for.
That was the central message of The Lazarus Project Season 1 Episode 6.
George truly hadn't thought through his scheme to bring his lover, Sarah, killed on The Lazarus Project Season 1 Episode 2, back to life.
No, George didn't much care if thousands had to die, at least temporarily, if Sarah was alive again afterward.
Archie should have recognized George's grieving yet determined frame of mind during their philosophical discussions of why Lazarus operatives shouldn't use time resets for their purposes. Her sad story about losing Ross didn't convince him; she should have picked up on that.
Now George has been running about Europe for three episodes, which should have given Archie some pause.
Instead, she first chalked it up to him taking time off while in mourning. Then, after he called her while running from the Romanian police on an unauthorized solo mission, she thought that was initiative.

What a mess George has created!
The rookie Lazarus agent plunged along on his rogue mission, which he figures will resurrect his dead lover, Sarah, on The Lazarus Project Season 1 Episode 5.
George's scheme sounds Ok (just Ok) on paper.
He planned to locate the stolen nuclear device Big Boy and then set it off. To avoid Armageddon, Wes and Lazarus would have to rush in and reset time, bringing back to life Sarah and all those others killed since the last Checkpoint Day.
Based on George's brief experience with Lazarus, this seems workable.
He saw Archie and Dane get gunned down during that disastrous raid against Rebrov on The Lazarus Project Season 1 Episode 1.
Yet they were alive again after Wes reset time following Rebrov's setting off Big Boy. In fact, every time there's a mushroom cloud, Wes seems to use Lazarus's singularity to fix the situation, giving humanity yet another chance to get things right.

So George didn't come to his senses after all.
Instead, the fledgling agent continued his ill-conceived plan in The Lazarus Project Season 1 Episode 4.
While he was forging onward, we mostly learned Shiv's back story.
Over the past couple of episodes, it's become readily apparent why Shiv is such a dark, broody dude.
Shiv carries around a ton of guilt, doesn't he? And that's just the handful of incidents about which we know.
It was encouraging to see Shiv was once a good-hearted youth. Some of that heart still peeks through even after he became a Lazarus agent, regardless of the emotional armor he puts up.
It wasn't surprising Shiv was an early developer, learning to walk and talk seemingly overnight. Whether that was because of time loops or because he was just an advanced child wasn't clear.
By his teen years, the intelligent Shiv had determined he remained aware of...

Vertical Entertainment has landed North American rights to “The Doc,” a documentary about a rap legend whose life and career was upended after a near-fatal accident.
The Doc, a hip-hop lyricist and producer who wrote for Nwa and Dr. Dre, was involved in a 1989 car crash that took his voice. “The Doc,” directed Dave Caplan, picks up 30 years later as he considers a dangerous experimental surgery that could restore his vocal cords.
Vertical will release the movie in theaters in the spring of 2023, following its world premiere at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
“The Doc is an incredible talent and visionary who helped usher the hip-hop movement into mainstream America,” Peter Jarowey, a partner at Vertical, said in a statement. “As his remarkable life is revealed on screen, it is like watching the history of hip-hop unfold before your very eyes as witnessed by industry legends who count him as a friend,...

50 Cent says he and Eminem are working together to create a television show based on the latter’s semi-autobiographical film, 8 Mile.
“I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile to television,” 50 Cent said in an interview with Big Boy TV, before confirming that the “Mockingbird” rapper is involved in the project, and the two have already made some progress toward getting it made. “We’re in motion.”
50 Cent, continued, saying the show is “gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m battin’ a hundred, I’m battin’ a hundred,” likely referring to his long-running Power series on Starz and its multiple spinoffs Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force
When Big Boy asked the rapper whose idea it was to turn the cult classic film into a series and whether or not he had to convince Eminem, 50 Cent said he didn’t.

Can you say awkward? Now that little North West is well, not so little anymore, she's starting to realize that her mama, Kim Kardashian, isn't exactly like other mommies. For starters, she looks like a human Barbie doll. Secondly, Kim is legit the most famous woman in the world. Naturally, Northie got curious about the origins of her mother's fame and decided to address it head-on. During a radio interview with Big Boy on 92.3, the Kkw Beauty mogul got candid about her learning moment with North. It all started when the five-year-old said: "Mom, why are you famous?" Of course, Kim had to carefully finesse the situation. You can't very well tell an almost-Kindergartener that your claim to fame is a sex tape with a B-list rapper, right? Right! "Oh, Ok, I'm gonna have to explain this," the mother-of-three began. "We have a TV show," Kim replied once with uncertainty and then again more firmly.

He moves in with his new girlfriend of three months, Kim, played by Kimelia Weathers, and discovers she’s not what he wants in a relationship. He enlists the help of his best friends, Carville, portrayed by Quincy “Qdeezy” Harris, and Leona, played by Noelle Balfour, as well as Kevin Hart and L.A. Power 106 radio host Big Boy, to find a relationship...

Looks like Russ Parr won’t be the only national radio personality in the film business soon. Nationally syndicated radio host Big Boy will be joining him in this arena as executive producer of Exit Strategy, a romantic comedy starring Jameel Saleem and Kimelia Weathers.
Synopsis for the film: The romantic comedy centers around a man named James (Jameel Saleem) who is evicted from his apartment and forced to move in with his girlfriend of three months, Kim (Kimelia Weathers) and quickly discovers she’s not his type. When he enlists his friend Carville (Quincy ‘QDeezy’ Harris) and Leona (Noelle Balfour) to help him find an exit out of the relationship, things go haywire, as Kim refuses to let her boyfriend leave peacefully.
“I’m a movie fan — and when QDeezy brought this to me, I thought it’d be something my listeners would be in to,” Big Boy told AllHipHop.

Photo: Warner Home Video I started creating RopeofSilicon.com in 2003, but one year before that a little show called "Fastlane" premiered on Fox, and while it did worm its way into the first four months of 2003 that was where it died. The self-described "adult music video" has the look of C.S.I. Miami in all its warm color blasted neon, a soundtrack reserved for '90s MTV and enough female ass and sexual innuendo to make for a kick ass time. That's right folks, the "complete" series DVD set of "Fastlane" was not sent to me with the hope that I may cover it. Nope, I requested this bad boy as this is one of those guilty pleasures I was always sorry it gotten taken off the air. Tiffani and Peter had a good working relationship...

Popular Los Angeles morning radio host Big Boy has teamed with feature screenwriter Darryl Quarles for a comedy project for Fox that Charlie's Angels director McG is executive producing. The as-yet-untitled show hails from McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision banner and Warner Bros. TV, which has overall deals with Big Boy and Wonderland. For his first starring TV vehicle, Big Boy will stay close to his radio roots, playing the owner and on-air personality at an independent L.A. radio station, where he presides over a dysfunctional surrogate family that includes his blue-blooded former college roommate and a teenage intern who believes he's going to be the next P. Diddy.
