Has composed a number of works for small groups (woodwind quintet,
string quartet, trumpet octet, horn sextet/octet) as
well as music for string/chamber orchestra, concert band and percussion solo.
At age 14 received encouragement from Gene Roddenberry for color pencil drawings he made of an updated version (ca. mid 70's) of the U.S.S. Enterprise bridge interior, William briefly meeting Roddenberry following one of the Star Trek (1966) creator's speaking tour appearances.
Worked for six years as a planetarium music composer, composing specialty music for various science and children's museums based mainly in the Southeastern US.
