Top 20 list of reasons that The Dresden Files should be brought back.

1. During the writer's strike Lionsgate had made a deal with the writer's guild before most other companies, pushing them a head of the curb on scrambling to get back into the swing of things. Lionsgate is the company that made The Dresden Files and they have told fans that they are more than willing to continue The Dresden Files but it's up to the Scifi Channel.

2. Paul Blackthorne's (Harry Dresden) character was killed off on Big Shots. Big Shots is the show he went to when Dresden Files wasn't renewed.

3. A fairly recent poll from NBC / Universal asked if people like shows dealing in magic and the supernatural. What better suits this than The Dresden files?

4. Bonnie Hammer (the former head of the Scifi channel and the one who had Dresden files canceled) had stepped down from her position as head of programming for the Scifi Channel.

5. The Scifi Channel aired the two hour version of Dresden Files: Storm Front on March eighth. Though it was shown at three AM there were viewers. So technically the last episode of Dresden files did not air until March 2008. The two hour version of Dresden Files: Storm Front also aired a month prior to that in prime time on the Canada's Space.

6. The new Dresden Files comic books are currently sold out on amazon with a second printing scheduled very soon.

7. The latest Dresden Files novel, Small Favor by Jim Butcher, is on several best seller lists.

8. When someone tried calling The Dresden Files the worst scripted failure on the Scifi Chanel in Variety magazine that article got more negative responses than any other article published by Variety this year.

9. On an Amazon Scifi Channel store poll for best show on the Scifi Channel The Dresden Files is still at number 1 and has been at the number one spot for a full week, beating out Battlestar Galactica by 6% of the votes, gaining over 36% of the total votes. Destination truth however has 0% of the votes. Here's a suggestion... since no one seems to like Destination truth why don't they use that budget and some of the money set aside for their made for TV movies to bring back The Dresden Files? It wasn't exactly an expensive show.

10. The Hey Neilson! website has The Dresden Files in it's top ten.

11. 12,178 signatures are now on the online petition to bring The Dresden files back.

12. While on the air The Dresden Files was number 3 in the Scifi channel's highest rated shows.

13. There were several plots left unresolved in The Dresden files including: The back story of Bob and Winifred. How will Murphy accept the existence of magic and the supernatural? Who killed Harry's mother? Will Bob ever be redeemed and or freed? How did Ancient Mai (a drake) become the head of the Chicago branch of the High Council? How did a police officer get a hold of a magical branding iron in the season finale? Are there any more Justin Morningway Dopplegangers around? Will the High Council ever trust Harry Dreden? There were so many unanswered questions and so much potential.

14. Farscape got it's Peacekeeper wars so why can't The Dresden Files have a mini series or made for TV movie to tie up the loose ends?

15. Lionsgate has the rights to The Dresden Files until at least 2012 so it's not too late.

16. Forever Knight was continued even though there was a seventeen month gap between the first two seasons.

17. The Dresden Files is developing a cult following with very high DVD sales in such places as Best Buy and Amazon.

18. A New York Post review for Moonlight called Moonlight a low rent version of The Dresden Files, making it clear that critic had liked The Dresden Files.

19. The final Harry Potter book was released last summer and the sixth Harry Potter film comes out this November. There's a new BBC series of Merlin and in 2009 BBC 3 is doing a show called Being Human, a series about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost sharing a place together. (Seems like someone borrowed some ideas from The Dresden Files and wanted to tap into that). The British Sky1 has been airing reruns of the first season of The Dresden Files, giving the show many new viewers. In any event this is the perfect time to continue The Dresden files on The Scifi Channel with either a new season, a mini series or made for TV movies.

20. And the final and most important reason The Dresden Files should be continued with a second season, mini series or made for TV movie is... WE WANT IT!
