Rebecca-Clare Evans’ Caged Film has wrapped a three-week shoot in Snowdonia, Wales on Natalie Kennedy’s horror Purgatory.
The film stars Alina Allison from 2023 horror Punch, and Thomas Grant from Pretty Red Dress. Purgatory follows a disabled young woman on her way to university who meets a sadistic serial killer, and who must work to escape an cycle of torment. Evans, Bhaskar Patel, Pat Lally and Millie Thompson also star. A first look at the film has been released, above.

The prestigious and brilliant London Indian Film Festival is gearing up for another outstanding line up of films starting in June. This year, UK and Europe’s largest South Asian film festival takes place at the prestigious BFI, Barbican (London), and Mac (Birmingham). The London Indian Film Festival and Birmingham Indian Film Festival presents a selected season of films and shorts premieres in June, with a larger programme returning in September across the UK.
The exciting June season, supported in London by the Bagri Foundation, begins with the the European premiere of the multi-starrer film The Storyteller directed by Ananth Mahadevan on 22nd June at BFI Southbank and 23rd June at Mac Birmingham. When Director Dan Löwenstein, founder of film production company House of Create, was approached to make a film for Survivors UK he was immediately drawn to the importance of the subject matter and was keen to create something of a high production value with a memorable message for them. Safe became a passion project where real stories of survivors of sexual violence are portrayed direct to camera by a trio of actors, all chosen for their ability to connect with the harrowing subject matter with the level of sensitivity required for the roles. Sci-fi drama “Blank” has wrapped filming and is now in post-production, with a first-look image released of the lead actresses. The movie stars “L Word” and “Deep State” actress Rachel Shelley, and “Poldark’s” Heida Reed. The cast also features U.S. star Wayne Brady, whose credits include “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “How I Met Your Mother.”
“Blank” sees a desperate writer sign up for a fully A.I. operated retreat to cure her writer’s block, but when an unforeseen software glitch occurs, she gets trapped inside her unit with an unstable android and no communication with the outside world.
Shelley plays the writer, Claire Rivers, with Reed as ‘the A.I.,’ and Brady as the “host.” Jamie Lomas, Bhasker Patel, Rebecca-Clare Evans and Annie Cusselle (“The Silent Child”) round out the cast.

Emmerdale's new recruit Trudie Goodwin has praised her soap co-stars, hailing them as "wonderful people".
