It's been 28 years since Whitesnake released their famous single "Here I Go Again" -- and, last night, the song's music video vixen made a very rare public appearance. Tawny Kitaen, the very same woman who did cartwheels on the hood of a classic car in the 1987 video, hit the red carpet in Los Angeles. Still sporting her signature red hair, the former model and ex-wife of Whitesnake frontman David Cloverdale (left) looked great at the premiere of Amazon's new series "Bosch." The 53-year-old was on hand to support Jenica Bergere, an actress in the series who also directed Kitaen in the upcoming film "Come Simi." In the year since dancing around in a sheer white dress in the now-infamous video, Kitean married and divorced Cloverdale, before following suit with pitcher Chuck Finley. Following her 2002 divorce from Finley, Kitaen was arrested for drug possession in 2006 and followed it up with stints...

Safety Not Guaranteed | Jack Reacher | Midnight's Children | Grabbers | Zaytoun | Parental Guidance
Safety Not Guaranteed (15) (Colin Trevorrow, 2012, Us) Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass, Jake Johnson, Karan Soni, Jenica Bergere. 86 mins
A man puts an ad in the local paper seeking a companion for his time-travel mission. Is this a prelude to a sci-fi adventure or an inventive lonelyhearts ad? We're strung along as to whether or not this guy's genuine for so long, there's room to smuggle in a relaxed indie romcom in the interim – Plaza is great company as she forges a connection with the paranoid inventor (Duplass). The sci-fi element isn't quite a red herring, but by the time it flowers, we've already learned plenty about living in the past.
Jack Reacher (12A) (Christopher McQuarrie, 2012, Us) Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins. 130 mins
After the atrocity of Rock Of Ages, Cruise is back in his comfort zone as Lee Child's lone-wolf military detective,...

Breaking: The Wes Anderson-directed Moonrise Kingdom captured the Best Picture Award at the 22nd Independent Feature Project’s Gotham Awards. Tonight’s fete at Cipriani Wall Street is the first of many awards gatherings, with this one specifically dedicated to the celebration of the best of independent film. The awards were hosted by Mike Birbiglia, who was up for a Breakthrough Actor Award for Sleepwalk With Me. Hate to say it, but he seemed to sleepwalk through his opening monologue, though it’s kind of a Gotham Award tradition to see awkward openings of the show. Birbiglia did a word for word recitation of David O Russell’s fit of anger toward Lily Tomlin in the virally distributed clip caught on the set of the 2004 film I Heart Huckabees. Nobody laughed, and after The Fighter and now Silver Linings Playbook, didn’t Russell (who was among those being honored...

Safety Not Guaranteed is by far one of my favourite films of the year, and more than that, one of my favourite films of all time.
With phenomenal performances from Aubrey Plaza and Mark Duplass in the leads, the film debuted at Sundance back in January – you can read our five-star review here from Sundance London – and was released in the Us over the summer to brilliant box office numbers.
For a long time, we thought it wouldn’t be getting a release on our shores, but then Vertigo Films did us all a huge favour and secured its UK distribution for a Boxing Day release, and we will all very much be the better for it.
After seeing the UK trailer land last month, digitalspy have now debuted the new UK poster, boasting just a handful of the universally praiseworthy reviews it’s been earning.

The enjoyable Safety Not Guaranteed is a mystery, a slacker comedy, a sci-fi, and a mumblecore drama all rolled up into one entertaining low-budget package. The film’s title comes from a line in a magazine classified ad seeking a partner in time travel that kicks off the story. “Wanted: Someone to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. You get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed.”. reads the ad, which inspires Jeff (Jake Johnson), a staff writer for Seattle Magazine to investigate its origin, perhaps as a colorful human interest story. He chooses two of the magazine’s interns (“I’l take the lesbian and the Indian”), Darius and Arno (Aubrey Plaza and Karan Soni), to assist him and the trio travel to a sleepy Washington State coastal town to search for the person behind the ad. Once there,...

Chicago – I love “Safety Not Guaranteed.” It reminds me of films of my youth – the sci-fi/dramedy hits of directors like Robert Zemeckis, Richard Donner, and Steven Spielberg – that gifted viewers with wonderful characters with which we could identify. The set-up may be ridiculous but as long as we feel grounded with the people within it, we’ll go along with anything. This is something that’s been lost over the years and writer Derek Connolly and director Colin Trevorrow have found in their delicate, lovely film.
One of the reasons that “Safety Not Guaranteed” is so delightful is that the set-up is borderline ludicrous. It’s a tightrope act. When one thinks of the myriad of ways a film like this one could have gone wrong, it makes the fact that it doesn’t that much more admirable. In the hands of so many other filmmakers and with other casts,...

Director: Colin Trevorrow Writer: Derek Connolly Starring: Mark Duplass, Aubrey Plaza, Jake M. Johnson, Karan Soni, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Jenica Bergere, Kristen Bell, Jeff Garlin Safety Not Guaranteed has an offbeat premise, an intriguing cast, and even some indie street cred provided by Executive Producers, Jay and Mark Duplass, who also stars in the film. Its snarky sensibility may even slap a smile on your face for the first half hour, until you realize that writer Derek Connolly and first-time director Colin Trevorrow really can’t decide what to do with the amazing array of talent they’ve assembled, or with any of the story threads they’ve set into motion. Add to this the discord of several different acting styles that just don’t belong in the same film, and you have a movie that is nearly as confused as the delusional crackpot at its center.

Director: Colin Trevorrow Writer: Derek Connolly Starring: Mark Duplass, Aubrey Plaza, Jake M. Johnson, Karan Soni, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Jenica Bergere, Kristen Bell, Jeff Garlin In 1997, a classified ad was published in Backwoods Home Magazine: "Wanted: Somebody to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. You'll get paid after we get back. You must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before." It turned out to be a hoax. Nonetheless, the clever classified ad spread like wildfire around the Internet. Years later, screenwriter Derek Connolly decided to use the classified ad as a basis for a story and Colin Trevorrow was brought on board to direct the film.

Colin Trevorrow’s Safety Not Guaranteed is a feel-good comedy about a group of misfits looking for love and acceptance. The film uses a touch of movie magic to form an interesting new twist on the same old romantic comedies seen time and again. With a fantastic all-star cast to boot, this was one of the festival’s greatest gems.

If Lizzy Caplan is the early frontrunner for It-Girl of 2012, then consider Jake Johnson her male counterpoint. The 32-year-old actor, who has broken out on the hit Fox series "New Girl," has a brief appearance in this weekend's "21 Jump Street," and will next be seen onscreen in "Safety Not Guaranteed." The indie romance -- which earned rave reviews Sundance Film Festival back in January, and was equally well-received at SXSW in Austin when it screened on Sunday -- gives Johnson the type of meaty supporting role you might expect to see Bill Murray inhabit in a Wes Anderson movie.
Directed by newcomer Colin Trevorrow (from a script by Derek Connolly), "Safety Not Guaranteed" focuses on three Seattle magazine workers (Johnson and two interns, played by Aubrey Plaza and Karan Soni) who travel into the Washington suburbs to investigate a classified ad promising the person who replies the chance to time travel.

Exclusive: Charlie Sheen’s new FX comedy series, Anger Management, is moving to cast its leading ladies. Selma Blair, who had been pursued by the show’s producers, is leading the field of actresses expected to test opposite Sheen at tomorrow’s studio test, which also includes Dexter and No Ordinary Family alumna Julie Benz. On the Lionsgate TV-produced Anger Management, which has an initial 10-episode order, Sheen will portray Charlie, a former baseball player with anger issues who winds up as an unconventional anger management therapist. There are 3 other leads on the series — all female — Charlie’s own therapist, envisioned as a love interest for him, his ex-wife and his 13-year-old daughter. If their deals close by the time the studio tests start tomorrow, I hear that there are at least three actresses reading for each of the roles. Blair is someone identified early on for the therapist role.
