The ABC has revealed the first look at its new two-part drama Devil’s Dust, produced by FremantleMedia Australia.
Going to air on Sunday 11 November, concluding the next night, Devil’s Dust is based on the James Hardie asbestos saga and inspired by the reporting of ABC journalist Matt Peacock.
The story spans four decades and follows four people.
It features Anthony Hayes as the late Bernie Banton who became the face of the court case. Banton’s wife Karen is played by Alexandra Schepisi, while Peacock is played by Ewen Leslie.
The drama also features the fictional character of Hardie spin doctor Adam Bourke, played by Don Hany. Former Hardie and then News Limited spinner Greg Baxter who featured in the real court case, does not appear in the drama.

Stephen Browning has been confirmed as the director of communications for News Limited while Toby Hemming has been promoted into the role of head of corporate affairs for News Digital Media.
Browning took on the role in an acting capacity last month after the departure of Greg Baxter as part of the shakeup instituted by new CEO Kim Williams.
Meanwhile, Hemming – currently communications manager for Nationwide News, the Sydney-based division which includes The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and mX – will report in to Ndm’s chief operating officer Stuart Spiteri.
Before joining News Limited, Hemming worked in the UK for the News Corp controlled subscription TV broadcaster BSkyB. he moves into the new role on March 26.

"Avatar" won two trophies at the 57th annual Golden Reel Awards given by the Motion Picture Sound Editors (Mpse). James Cameron's game-changing sci-fi film took home Best Sound Editing of Music in a Feature Film award and Best Sound Effects and Foley in a Feature.
The Mpse also honored Steven Spielberg with its 2010 Filmmaker Award.
