- Alfred Balthoff was born on December 8, 1905 in Peiskretscham, Upper Silesia, Germany [now Pyskowice, Slaskie, Poland]. He was an actor and composer, known for The Marriage of Figaro (1949), Sherlock Holmes (1967) and O'Flaherty (1967). He died on March 8, 1989 in Vienna, Austria.
- Voice specialist from movies and TV rarely seen by his widespread audience. On 1950s cinema his voice supplied the German dialogue for Edward G. Robinson and Peter Ustinov in the dubbed versions of their films. More widely recognised in Germany as the voice of French actor Fernandel.
- Survived as a Jew in the Underground during the Holocaust.
