FX artist shares Camera Obscura images and more

26 October 2009 5:00 PM, PDT | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

Makeup FX artist Jeffrey S. Farley (pictured) of the Obscure Artifacts company sent along a bunch of behind-the-scenes pics from his assorted recent projects (see them below). The most notable are from Camera Obscura, the on-line horror series from up-and-coming genre filmmaker Drew Daywalt.

Camera Obscura (first row of photos), which we last reported on here, follows a young woman as she continues her deceased grandfather’s battle against creatures from a hellish parallel reality. “My involvement came about through my friendship with Drew,” Farley, who also associate-produced the series, tells Fango. “We’ve had a great time on every show since Breach, and when he sold Camera Obscura, he told me, ‘You’re on, and here are some ideas I’ve come up with.’ Then he produced some of the most incredible Bosch/Bacon-styled designs I’ve ever seen. Needless to say, I was sold.

VH1's "My Antonio" To Air Season Finale

19 October 2009 6:26 AM, PDT | icelebz.com | See recent iCelebz news »

Now that most of the contestants have to say goodbye to Antonio Sabato Jr. on his VH1 dating show, "My Antonio," so will viewers. The show is heading towards its season finale.

After 10 episodes, only thirty-year-olds Miranda, a New York-native makeup artist, and Brooke, a nurse from Missippi, are left. Antonio's ex-wife Tully, who was married to the model/actor from 1992 to 1993, was cast in the show trying to win him back. She was eliminated in the last episode, earning her third place on the show.

The final episode of the "Bachelor"-style show will feature Brooke and Miranda both go to lengths to show that they're Sabato Jr.'s true love. Of course, the model's mother Yvonne will be on hand to help with the decision.

But will he settle for the beautiful but guarded Brooke or the bubbly but neurotic Miranda? Only the producers know, but if its »

Q: Does Lucy Lawless regret that they killed Xena? – Craig, Norfolk, Va

A: In fact, she does. In “A Friend in Need,” the two-part Xena: Warrior Princess series finale back in 2001, Xena allows herself to be killed, so she can become a ghost and fight a spiritual being. Later, after Gabrielle finds a way to bring Xena back to life, the Warrior-Princess heroically chooses to stay dead in order to make amends for past sins. The series ends with Gabrielle, a full-fledged warrior at last, carrying on Xena’s legacy.

Gabrielle bids farewell to Xena

But as I’m sure you know, Craig, fans were livid – both at the death itself and over the way she died, which included, um, decapitation.

Drifter: Henry Lee Lucas (2009)

1 September 2009 11:32 AM, PDT | Pretty/Scary | See recent pretty-scary news »

Review by Amanda Reyes

Starring Antonio Sabato Jr., Kostas Sommer, Kelly Curran

Directed by Michael Feifer

Written by Michael Feifer, Wood Dickinson, Christopher Ryan

Since Henry was all about confessions, I thought I’d start my review with one: I am a pretty voracious true crime nut and I’ve always been drawn to films about the “superstar” serial killers, such as Dahmer, Bundy and, you guessed it, Henry Lee Lucas. Like good ol’ Ed Gein, Lucas has inspired a tale or two about his supposed rampage across the country. I say supposed because Lucas confessed to a few hundred some odd murders and then rescinded most of them...

He became most famous to casual crime followers when the excellent horror film Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer enjoyed a small theatrical release in 1989. John McNaughton’s shocking film was only loosely based on Lucas, but was such a searing »

'My Antonio': Does a sane woman ever do reality TV dating? Poll!

17 August 2009 8:04 AM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Last night's season premiere of VH1's latest lonely-heart celebrity show, My Antonio, reignites the debate: Does a sane woman ever do reality TV dating? It's something you might've asked yourself while you watched these women (pictured with Antonio Sabato Jr.) running up a mountain and frequently falling out of their short dresses to get to him. (He wants an athletic woman who can keep up with him and, as he told us last week, these women all insisted they could do anything, so he needs to find out who's telling the truth.) The way I see it, there are four possible answers to this very important question. So, which is it? (Also: If you watched last night's series premiere, what did you think?) Antonio Sabato Jr. gives us six (really good) reasons to watch 'My Antonio'

14 August 2009 6:45 AM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Antonio Sabato Jr. is looking for love. In Hawaii. With the help of his mother. His journey, the 10-episode My Antonio, premieres Sunday at 10 p.m. Et on VH1. Here, the 37-year-old former General Hospital star and Calvin Klein underwear model tells us why we need to tune in: 1. It's classy. (Correction: As classy as a VH1 dating show can be.) "When I was talking to my mother about the show, I said no matter what's gonna happen, whether the girls are drunk or alcoholics, you have me and you. And we're different. So automatically, you're gonna have different discussions. The Bachelor and other shows agree with that kind of lifestyle; I don't agree with it at all. So for me to be around it and be okay with it, would be impossible. You'll see a lot of it in the show where they go too far, and it's either 'I've just had enough, »

Sneak peek at VH1's Antonio Sabato Jr. dating show: Questions?

11 August 2009 5:55 AM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Antonio Sabato Jr. —  former Calvin Klein underwear model, Janet Jackson video star, General Hospital heartthrob, and Celebrity Circus winner — is looking for love. Obviously, he turned to VH1, which set him up with the essentials — ladies, cameras, hot tub, helicopter —  in Hawaii. The result, My Antonio, debuts Sunday at 10 p.m. Et. This afternoon, Sabato will stop by PopWatch HQ for a chat. So, watch the sneak peek below of the first full episode (it's not like you're working), and submit your burning questions. They can be general — what is the worst thing those dimples have let him get away with, besides dismissing one woman moments after meeting her because he's not attracted to her feet and making the others climb a mountain in short dresses to get to him? — or specific: Did he know that his ex-wife would come on the show to try to win him back? Lowest Common Denominator Entertainment has set an October 27 street date for its long-awaited special-edition disc of Black Devil Doll, and gave Fango the scoop on the complete details. Matt wants to move on with their relationship, but Betty faces one final challenge. In the two-hours season finale of "Ugly Betty" that airs May 21, Christopher Gorham is back as Henry, the old flame of Betty who left to marry his pregnant girlfriend and moved out of town in season 2.
