Kate Beckinsale's return as Selene in Underworld: Blood Wars will now take place in the winter rather than the fall.
According to Box Office Mojo, Underworld: Blood Wars will be released by Screen Gems on January 6th, 2017. The film was previously slated to come out on October 14th, 2016.
A Lakeshore Entertainment film, Underworld: Blood Wars stars Beckinsale back in her role as the highly skilled vampire Selene, with Theo James once again playing David and Charles Dance returning as the vampire elder Thomas. Bradley James (Damien, iZombie) also plays a key role in the fifth Underworld film, which is directed by Anna Foerster from a screenplay by Cory Goodman (The Last Witch Hunter, Priest):

Kate Beckinsale’s triumphant return as Selene has been postponed, now that Screen Gems has opted to nudge Underworld: Blood Wars back three months and into 2017.
Once on course to scurry into theaters in time for October 14, 2016, the horror sequel (franchise revival?) has now been delayed until January 6, 2017.
Beckinsale is in line to return as the famed Vampire Death Dealer for the franchise’s fifth installment, rubbing shoulders with Divergent breakout Theo James as they navigate the historic battle between vampires and werewolves. Last time we saw the actress take point as the series’ badass lead she had reached the ripe old age of 632. That was Underworld: Awakening in 2012, though Screen Gems will surely be aiming for a more effective sequel in time for 2017.

Despite all signs pointing to the franchise bowing out after 2012’s forgettable Awakening, the vampires vs werewolves saga rages on. Lakeshore Entertainment is poised to continue the cult horror series next year with the as-yet-untitled Underworld 5 – rumors suggest it may be branded as Next Generation – bringing back series stalwart Kate Beckinsale once again for the role of Selene.
She won’t be alone, however, with Divergent alum Theo James poised to star opposite the actress for Anna Foerster’s (Outlander) soft reboot along with, as of today, Sherlock and True Blood‘s Lara Pulver. An actress who is no stranger to the supernatural scene, Pulver is perhaps best known for her part as Claudine in HBO’s sexy horror series, while also appearing on Da Vinci’s Demons and the Tom Cruise-fronted actioner, Edge of Tomorrow.

This isn’t Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. That much should be made immediately clear by the “3D” tacked onto the title of this CGI-fueled fantasy actioner, but any lingering doubts are quickly dispelled moments into I, Frankenstein, when the famed creature (given the name Adam and played by the far-too-handsome Aaron Eckhart) is forced to defend himself against sharp-toothed demons whilst burying his creator.
He just about has time to “descend” those demons, sending them back to Hell in pillars of flame, before being scooped up by two gargoyles and brought before their queen, Lenore (Miranda Otto). Turns out, Adam is a missing link of sorts, and both the demons and the gargoyles, who’ve been warring for centuries, want him. Showing surprising intelligence for a recently reanimated corpse, he backs away from both species, opting for a life of eternal solitude until he’s discovered and dragged back into the fray.

Shooting the ill-fated “Midnight Rider” in California could have prevented the February accident that killed a member of the indie film’s crew, Richard Wright, Lakeshore Entertainment’s head of production, said April 24. An experienced crew, he told the industry crowd at a breakfast organized by the California Film Commission, would have known better than to shoot on active railroad tracks. “That was a low-budget film, a lot of people that hadn’t worked on a lot of films at that point,” he said. “Shooting in the low-budget range in Los Angeles, you can still get good crew. You’re not pulling people straight out of film school." We have some quickie news coming in for I, Frankenstein. Sitcom favorite Yvonne Strahovski ("Chuck", Killer Elite) recently offered hungry fans a little insight as to whom she'll be playing in the flick and whether or not she'll continue to keep you in stitches.
"I'm flying in a couple of weeks to Australia to shoot another movie with Aaron Eckhart, which I'm really excited about, called I, Frankenstein," she tells MovieWeb. "It's going to be sort of an action-drama-romance type movie. I play a scientist, and I think I'm changing up my accent. I'm going to be British in this one, which is nice for a change. I've been an American for so many years now (laughs). It's kind of a modern take on the original (Frankenstein) story. There will be some romantic elements, I think it's safe to say that much."
