Anyone who grew up in a dysfunctional household knows just how traumatic childhood can be. In Moon Garden, writer/director Ryan Stevens Harris visualizes those traumas as the nightmarish denizens of the dark, industrial wasteland that a young girl finds herself trapped in.
Emma lives with her parents Sara and Alex. They love Emma, but they don’t love each other anymore. After getting a scare one night she runs to their room, only to encounter something even scarier, the two of them in the midst of a loud, intense argument. Running from it she trips and takes a fall down the stairs which leaves her in a coma. Her struggle to awake from it becomes a nightmarish trip...

The curse has been lifted, Cubs fans. (Sorry, but the curse remains, Indians fans.)
In Wednesday’s incredibly dramatic Game 7 of the World Series, the Chicago Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians, 8-7, in 10 innings to claim their first championship since 1908. (To put that in perspective, the television hadn’t even been invented yet when the Cubs last won it all.)
RelatedCriminal Minds, Blindspot, Svu Pulled Opposite World Series Game 7
It was a tense, tightly contested game throughout, with fans of both teams agonizing over the possibility of another crushing loss. (Cleveland hasn’t won a World Series since 1948, either.

Westerns have their constants -- drunken brawls, gunfights, cowboys, barren landscapes -- but the genre is rather malleable and can support all kinds of interesting narrative and thematic angles. For example, consider the indie western called The Scarlet Worm. It's about, of all things, abortion.
The Scarlet Worm seems to be going for a Spaghetti Western vibe as evidenced by the trailer, its gritty subject matter -- John Ford didn't make movies about cathouse abortions -- and a cast that includes actors such as Dan van Husen (Sartana, A Bullet for Sandoval) and Montgomery Ford aka Brett Halsey (Cut Throats Nine).
The description provided by the filmmakers is as follows:
Based on an original screenplay by Western historian David Lambert, the story concerns a cruel brothel owner (van Husen) who mandates abortions on all his prostitutes, seeming to derive some sick pleasure out of the act. A rancher (Ford) with...
