Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure - Blu-ray Review

28 October 2009 6:38 AM, PDT | Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news »

Tinker Bell was never a favorite of mine. I guess she.s a cutie, but I always preferred the villainous Captain Hook. That old codfish wasn.t given his own direct-to-video film series though. This time around Tink is out to find a treasure that will fix some troubles she.s gotten herself into. Tinker Bell (Mae Whitman) is quite the inventor. She.s working on a boat, but she also has a habit of breaking her inventions. Tink is called before Queen Clarion (Angelica Huston) and she thinks she.s in trouble. That is not the case as Fairy Mary (Jane Horrocks) has recommended her to the Queen and the Minister of Autumn (John Di Maggio) to make a »

Horrocks stunned by 'Strictly' revamp

4 August 2009 9:18 AM, PDT | Digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news »

Jane Horrocks has admitted that she is shocked by the BBC's decision to drop Arlene Phillips from Strictly Come Dancing. The Absolutely Fabulous star, who has made regular appearances in the show's live audience, revealed that she will be surprised if the programme has the same appeal without Phillips on the judging panel. Speaking to Pa, she commented: "Well she's sort of part of it, it's a bit like Blind Date without Cilla Black. It's sort of weird because she is so much [a] part of that show, and so I think (more) »

Diana Vickers lands role in West End musical

9 July 2009 3:12 PM, PDT | Digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news »

Former X Factor contestant Diana Vickers has landed a role in the West End revival of musical comedy The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice. The singer, who finished fourth in last year's competition, will star as a painfully shy girl with an amazing voice and the ability to impersonate legendary singers such as Judy Garland and Dame Shirley Bassey. In a statement, the show's producer Nica Burns admitted that she was persuaded to audition Vickers after playwright Jim Cartwright insisted that she was "the perfect girl" to take on the role that made Jane Horrocks famous. "When I saw Diana I knew immediately he was right. She has a special (more) »

Absolutely Fabulous: A Remake That Might Actually Get Off the Ground

9 February 2009 4:50 PM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

The UK's Absolutely Fabulous TV show has been seen throughout the world and remains very popular with adults of all ages. There have been several attempts at recreating the bawdy series in the Us but the projects have all ended up stalling. Now, it looks like the time may actually be right.

First airing from 1992 to 1996, Absolutely Fabulous centers around Edina Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders) and Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley), a pair of immature, chain-smoking, substance-abusing, fashion-obsessed ladies of London. Edina's daughter, "Saffy" (Julia Sawalha), doesn't approve of the excesses which provides plenty of conflict. June Whitfield plays Edna's good-natured mother and Jane Horrocks plays Bubble, Edna's inept personal assistant. Others in the cast include Helen Lederer, Harriet Thorpe, Naoko Mori, Christopher Malcolm, Christopher Ryan, and Mo Gaffney. New episodes of Fabulous began running in 2001.

Fox has recently announced plans to create a Us version of Fabulous for the Fall 2009 schedule. »
