It would indeed be glorious news if this were true, and the way the speculation has mounted over the past several months it certainly seems to have more validity than ever.
Chud is speculating, based on several different sources, that an Arrested Development movie is more or less an eventuality. Now, we have to be careful: There has been no official announcement made by Ron Howard or Mitchell Hurwitz, and you'd think that's where it would have to come from. However, the Bluth men, particularly Michael (Jason Bateman) and George (Jeffrey Tambor) are not exactly ducking from the rumors in the current rounds of press duties.
Bateman, in an interview with the Times of London, says that a film version is planned for 2009. At least that's the subtext. He does say, however, that the show was subject to a number of possible interruptions that would distract you from the quick-fire,

Universal announced it will release Sacha Baron Cohen’s upcoming comedy “Bruno” on May 15, 2009, according to Variety.
Much like “Borat,” the film follows one of Cohen’s eccentric characters on his quest to trick people into believing he’s real.
Created on Cohen’s popular TV show “Da Ali G Show,” Bruno is an Austrian fashionista and celebrity journalist who comes to America to interview famous people.
If you had an awesome time watching “Borat,” chances are you will enjoy this one just as much. After winning critical acclaim, “Borat” ended up pulling in $128.5 million domestically.
Competition will be tough for “Bruno,” as it will have to go against Ron Howard’s “Angels & Demons.”

Tom Hanks and director Ron Howard have been forbidden from filming in two Roman churches by religious leaders.
The pair is making the prequel to controversial film The Da Vinci Code in the Italian city and asked permission to shoot in two churches considered vital to the storyline in Dan Brown's book Angels + Demons.
But Rome's diocese has told producers they'll have to film elsewhere, due to the controversial nature of the plot.
A spokesman for the diocese says, "It's a film that treats religious issues in a way that contrasts with common religious sentiment.
"We would be helping them create a work that might well be beautiful but that does not conform to our views."
The film deals with suggestions that Jesus was a married father when he died. Dan Brown's books about the mysterious Opus Dei, a secret society which protects the bloodline of Jesus, and Howard and Hanks' 2006 The Da Vinci Code film have upset Catholic leaders throughout the world.
But despite the ban, director Howard will be allowed to film exteriors of the churches, Santa Maria del Popolo and Santa Maria della Vittoria.

As the Cannes Film Festival prepares for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which premieres on Sunday, there is a question that begs asking. Why did Steven Speilberg and George Lucas decide to bring this "popcorn movie" to face the jaded industry types and elite critics on the French Riviera? In 2006, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard decided to open The Da Vinci Code at Cannes, which actually made some sense. The Pg-13-rated film was set in France, with a chunk of the film being shot in the Louvre Museum.
