The best movies i've ever seen in no specific order.

List of my favorite movies (was a hard job to sort them out a bit... first ~30 movies - difficult to say which I prefer, all are something very special to me). The list will keep updating - whenever i'll find a great movie.

I would love to get more suggestions for movies i haven't seen yet, and would somehow suit this list.

Top movies for Hip People of Generation Y onwards. These are movies that someone from Gen Y would get a hold of and greatly appreciate and grow up with. who also enjoys films that are cerebral, artistic, intense, dense, worldly, thrilling, sentimental, logical, witty, or profound.

p.s. I ranked films that are well known in America so i haven't even considered a whole bunch of foreign films.

P.S. almost none of these movies have plot wholes

This list is an ongoing work-in-progress. There are some stinkers in here, but they have their place - whether it's for nostalgic value or their contribution to a specific genre.

I believe films can be appreciated for their components as often as for the whole. Socially referential, emotionally relevant, politically poignant, individually ambiguous and culturally evocative... films express our identity, our values, our dreams and our doubts. Their cumulative art form succeeds in conveying what we find difficult to express.

Each entry is a film I've recommended to someone for one reason or another. Often, a single film for different reasons to different people. They're entered in no particular order, so sort alphabetically or chronologically for an easier time.

this list would have to be deemed as my own wayward documentation of the many films i have personally enjoyed.. for one reason or another.

i am certain(!) you will sift through some films that you could consider to be 'questionable'.. but each entry does have its own investment with me.

film, as the moving canvas, can be appreciated in so many different and unique ways.. it is alive and most certainly dynamic

..in other words: 'this is my dream collection- which spans over a century of time'.

I know Coyote Ugly doesn't deserve grade 10 but I just love that movie.

You know how sometimes once is not enough? Well these are the movies I could watch many more times. I even would watch any of them right know if anyone would suggest it.

NB! This list doesn't include animation movies, because I can watch those forever.

In order of how I rate them.

These are the movies and TV series which I have rated. I've seen lots more, but the titles have been forgotten. Most have been watched over the last three or four years.

Note: I have recently decided to add television shows to the list; therefore, over the following weeks, this list may grow dramatically before abruptly stopping at, I estimate, about 5,000.

This list is ranked, from my most favorite starting at number one. This is not an easy thing to do. While I am mostly please with many of the positions, this list is very fluid in that many of them could be rank above or below of were they are at.

These are the films that either had some kind of impact on me, kept my eyes glued to the screen, or impressed me with its story and characters and its technical and artistic film-making. Or, the combination of any or all of the above. Either way, in the end, if I love it, it qualifies to go on this list.

And, there will be more to come in the near future.

This is a list of psycological and crime thrillers, really intense movies, that i watched and loved...any recommendations are welcome....
Well thank you all you guys for your comments....the truth is i can't comment back so i decided to let you know that in a way...

Movies have the ability to transport us to a place that we can't reach by ourselves. They penetrate the deepest corners of our souls and make us feel like dreaming with our eyes open. I don't want to imagine what my life would be like without the wonderful magic of cinema.

My love for movies is eternal so choosing the best 100 films out of so many masterpieces was a tough job as I am still young and there are a lot of movies I still have to watch. However, after many hours of browsing through my voting history I was finally able to come up with this list.

I'm not saying that this list contains the greatest movies of all time. These are just my favorites, the ones I never get tired of watching, the movies I love and appreciate.

Despite the fact that some of you will not agree with my choices, I truly believe that each film on this list is an exceptionally satisfying piece of cinema that has to be seen and experienced at least once.

Therefore, I invite you all to take a look at my list, analyze it and let me know what you think of it.

Basically i have compiled a list of movies that i have seen, that i believe need to be watched (at least once).

Movies Order:

The movies are in order by date: starting with the newest 2012 movies.
By year: Movies at the top are Drama/Adventure, Mid is Action, and the end is Comedies/Disney movies.

(for example year 2010: Black Swan is a drama, Book of Eli is action, Toy story 3 is comedy)

If you want more information on the movies you can always click on them as well.
I did my best to categorize them so if i messed up..oh well.
I also tried to put movies that had the same type of plot next to each other. So if you like one movie check the next trailer.

I will be posting only the movies that i have seen SO FAR that i think are worth seeing. So if i don't have a movie that you think i should watch or should be on this list don't be afraid to post.
I will continuously update my list as i keep watching them.

There were three, actually two, I was unable to put on here. I could not locate 2007 ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATED SHORT FILMS, which came in at number 255 AND it also came in at number 256, between TROUBLE THE WATER and KISMAT KONNECTION. Finally, I was unable to put OTTO; OR, UP WITH THE DEAD PEOPLE on here, because it is categorized as an ADULT film. It came in at number 527, between GARDENS OF THE NIGHT and LOST IN BEIJING.
If there are any discrepancies, please let me know.

The list is incomplete due to some high rated movies still waiting to be watched. The numbering doesn't mean anything. To number them correctly, I would need only #1 and #2, and then arrange the movies in those two categories, which would still be inaccurate.

This is a list of movies you have probably never heard of that are MUCH better than most of the trash that is in Hollywood now. Join the lucky few who dont just watch movies because they are bored, but because they are entertaining

My rating system is lame, so no need to go on about that. This is a mix of childhood favourites, current favourites and movies that I kinda like a lot but don't really love. One day when I sort out my rating system I'll try and order these properly, but for now it's chronological.

Also, I've not seen a lot of these since I was young and it's possible I would not still like some of them.

This list may grow and change; however, there are some movies that are just wonderful. No matter the genre or era.

These are my favorite 160 movies that I have ever watched of my so far 24 year long life.

The films aren't in exact order though the rating does go down the further you go (ranging from 10 to 8). Why it isn't exact is because it I feel it impossible to directly compare so many different movies of different genres with entirely different qualities.

My plan is to eventually expand this list to 250 movies but I don't feel ready for that yet even though I have rated over a 1000 movies so far on IMDb.
