This is NOT a list stating the order of greatest films.
This list is NOT based upon my personal opinions, it is a list that is accumulated from all films that have appeared on IMDb's Top 250, the order of the list is based upon the most recent highest rank of films. This is why The Dark Knight takes first place, as it is the most recent film to take place at #1. Films for example, Inception was ranked #3 and therefore is placed above The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (the previous placeholder for #3). High rated films that have never appeared on IMDb's Top 250 follow those that did in order of their rank.
Before commenting please note once again this is not based on my personal opinions, but the world's average opinions.

I'm a massive horror fan and this is the list of horrors I have seen please comment some suggestions
Hey everyone I'm 16 and I'm a big fan of horror and I love to watch it with nearly every chance I get :) I have a big interest in 80s horror films, Italian horror, video nasties and a bit of the modern stuff. My favourite horror directors are John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Ruggero Deodato, David Cronberg, Neil Marshall, Takashi Mike, Sam Raimi, Clive Barker, George A. Romero, Tobe Hooper, Roman Polanski, Stuart Gordon, Brian De Palma and fairly new horror director Alexandre Aja. I would love to hear some feedback on the list on what you guys think plus some suggestions :) Also I know that some of these movies on this list might not be considerd horror so you don't need to comment about that, and if you ever wanna chat or ask me something about horror add me on facebook :) http://www.facebook.com/dylan.brown.1447
Here is the best horror movies of all time list. I hope you'll enjoy it.
Hey, I'm a teenager (necessary?) and here is a list of fun films me and my friends - boys and girls (necessary?) - have watched and enjoyed together.
Every Friday I host an unofficial movie night and we watch these films. Most contain raunchy comedy, graphic violence, & scares. We kind of like stupid movies.
Got any suggestions?

I'm a 25 yr old Horror flick-loving-chick~Horror movies are in my blood...I think...SO this is a list of my Favourite, "Hands Down", Horror flicks of all time. Some new, some old, some just plain crazy. I pretty much designate myself to watching horror movies, not because I don't like other genres...I just LOVE HORROR! I'm not a sick or twizted devil worshiping-psycho-path in any way...promise ;) But give me a choice to watch some mainstream comedy,action,sci-fi,romance etc. popular movie that has a 5 million dollar budget, and great reviews AND a low-budget,too much fake blood, no graphics or green screens, zombie Horror movie-HANDS DOWN, I think you know what one I'd choose. :) It's just the way I like it.
~*MelODDic*~
P.S. After the first 20 movies, it is in NO particular order. (it is too hard to list itin order of my favourites all the way thru, cuz I end up forgetting some films, then have to go back and keep switching the order)

These are some of my favorite horror/sci-fi movies. I grew up in the 80's so that's were most of my movies are from and I also consider it the best decade for horror. I like a little dark humor in my movies and I hate CGI when they use it for everything like blood. I'm not a big fan of Argento or Fulci and I didn't care for the Martyrs. I also watch asian horror movies but really don't care. I don't find it scary to paint a kid white as in the Ringu and Ju-on. I also hate PG-13 horror movies most of all. I know Jaws and Poltergeist are PG.
I think all the people who loves movies like my list and enjoy their movies season with lot of joy and thrilled a that's the perfect list i manage to make it long. keep enjoy and comment plz.
I'm not a sicko, I think when a filmmaker can handle rape really well it's powerful. Some of these I included because of the actual rape scenes, it's sort of all over the board.
Also I didn't include some really obvious and famous ones because how many times do you need to be told that Clockwork Orange is a great movie with rape?

Owner's ado:
these are films that me or my twin brother or both like. There's no order so you can do what you want with this list. When I bump into some film and realize that I've seen it, I add it on this list, so this list's gonna broaden infinitely.
some might be missing, so I'd be glad if you recall some of those grandiose films not listed here

These are the movies and TV series which I have rated. I've seen lots more, but the titles have been forgotten. Most have been watched over the last three or four years.
Note: I have recently decided to add television shows to the list; therefore, over the following weeks, this list may grow dramatically before abruptly stopping at, I estimate, about 5,000.

A list of my favourite horror movies:(1980-1989). In chronological order and purely subjective.
The list of movies which comprise the book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die (2012 Edition) by Steven Jay Schneider.
Welcome to what I hope is the most comprehensive ranking of zombie movies on IMDB. This list is subjective as nobody has seen them all and there are many, many more beyond the three hundred seen here. But hopefully there are a few new "undead" flicks for Zombie fans to chew on. Also, after the first one hundred and fifty or so films it starts to get a little ugly as the cinematography viewing quality drops off rather quick. Which is why I won't post more than what is already here. Also , I frequently update my revue with new undead films so feel free to revisit. Thanks.
Movies and/or TV-shows with zombies in them.
I have also included some titles starring creatures that are not exactly zombies, but reminded me of them. Brainless, flesheating monsters running, or limping, around in search for some unprepared screaming humans to eat.
Enjoy!

Horror movies that you must see before you die. Love them or hate them, they made a mark on the genre or are just fun to watch. No teeny bopper BS!

My Movie Podcast that discusses "everything else" about movies.
This list is in order. It is fairly comprehensive and spans several decades and genres. It is based on my own proclivities, but if you like the movies that you have already seen it should be a good jumping off point to see some new movies. I included some Comedy/Horror Fusions that might be controversial as a "horror movie," but they all have genuinely tense moments.
I also appear on an episode of the Judge John Hodgeman Podcast where I debate what constitutes a real horror film.

These are my all time favorite movies. i have not ranked them at all, so the best among these might come last in the list. And I have these movies in my collection....these are the movies i prefer to watch more than once.
Some films that were somehow uniquely special to me in my life before the age of 11. I was very much into horror and emotional Hong Kong action. Nowadays I rate most of them under 7/10, but they used to be very remarkable to childhood me. (I will skip the Police Academy/Hot Shots!/Airplane/Police Squad/Lethal Weapon stuff, and stick with more curious titles. :))
Horror Tv shows and movies I have seen and thought were worth sharing, in no particular order.
Admittedly a few are more sci-fi-horror or thriller but i've added them to this anyway.

An ever so brief listing of the few movies I own minus a few that aren't listed on IMDB also just so people know though I can make a list because I don't have an active account I can't post or reply to comments
Movies that take place in one setting, or have few people in them, or give the feeling there is nowhere to run or hide.
These flicks are beyond damp. Beyond slightly moist. These are soaking wet, the bloody, the disgusting. I did my best to avoid the CGI crap here but there are a few of those included, only the truly extreme.
The films that I would recommend you should watch, please feel free to comment or suggest any great films that I should watch. /list/Gd70rJx9qpY/
Some of these may also be considered thrillers so you dont need to comment about that. Enjoy!
Alphabetical order (duh)

The popularity of post-apocolyptic and zombie movies is growing- so much that they have started to break free from the horror genre. Films like 'Blindness' and 'Children of Men' all have the post apocolyptic theme but are done in a more dramatic film style. This list pays tribute to the genre that started it all: HORROR!

An objective list of cult horror films based on research. Tried to include films from both sides of the spectrum. For example, blockbusters like 'The Shining', to the 'so bad they're good' cult movies, like 'Manos: The Hands of Fate'.
Out of the 5000 or so films I've seen these are the movies that I'd consider my personal favorites. I've narrowed it down to around 300 of the ones that most standout.
These are in my opinion the best 180 horror movies or movies with many elements of horror ever made and i want to make one thing clear, this is not, the movies i like the most or the most frightening, they are the ones with the best overall quality, in visuals, sound, story, everything, it is a very careful chosen list, and not just random titles, also from #125 and after are not so great horror movies, but i felt like including them too
i still need to watch a lot, enjoy and leave comments!
Sorry for the English

One easy way to peruse the list is by clicking the box with four solid squares and then if searching for something specific go to "list order" and make it "A to Z" or "name" to put them in alphabetical order but unfortunately it count "A"s and "The"s as the first word so there's an awful lot of "The"s. They're an alphabetical section on their own. By running the mouse over the movie poster icon the film's facts are displayed. (If you didn't already know)
If you like this list check out my horror/cult/exploit/underground movie review website www.sinemasarcophagus.com.

The main thing is: you should write the topic you want to watch the film about and I'm gonna give you some recommendations, or other commentators will. Or just recommend us some amazing films and we'll try to give you superiors.
Start commenting, FROM NOW ON YOU SHOULD ONLY WATCH THE GREATEST ONES

Here is a list of movies that I think are well made horror films. E.g. Pyscho and Alien didn't make the list because I consider them thriller and sci-fi.
There's only two requirements:
1. I must love it.
2. I must have seen it at least twice.
I will add to it periodically. Not that anybody will look at this.

Edit: Oh yes, forgot to mention that the movies are randomly placed

THE SEQUEL
THE SEQUEL
The list title pretty much says it... There is no real order to the list. Ultimately, it's just the order of the movies that i think of.
I know quite a few will be left off. I am throwing this together on the fly
I know quite a few will be left off. I am throwing this together on the fly
This is a list of horror movies which I personally liked. I am a big fan of horror movies and watching horror movies is my favorite time pass. My kind of horror is not a what you will say psychological horror or nasty blood bath or serial killer movies or exploitation movies, I like horror movies which deals with ghosts, spirits, haunting, devil, demon, paranormal or supernatural stuffs. With this list I just want to highlight some of the very best in the horror Genre I like (my favorites ... no Slasher movie …that’s not horror for me… so they are not a part of this list). I keep updating the list with any movie which I watch and find it worth keeping in my collection. I believe no horror fan would be disappointed with any of the movies mentioned in this list.

In my opinion. I commented the first five briefly, the next fifteen plus some have-to-comment films even briefer. It would be great to receive some comments!
These are the 500 best movies I've ever see in chronological order! This is totally subjective; some are obvious choices while some others, not so much!
The list was revised in May 2012!

Obviously need to have at least 3 to make the list. I am putting the 1st of each movie so I can save space and build up the list. I hope you realize I include the 2nd,3rd,4th... even though they are not posted. And not all the movies in a trilogy have to be great just as long as most of them are. In no particular order.
A broad list spanning almost all genres, ranking my favorite movies of all time on an entirely subjective scale.

Over-the-top gorefests with buckets of blood, disembowelments, head explosions, limb dismemberment and outrageous amounts of splatter!

Some of my Favorite horror movies, i know i may be leaving out some that are considered classics, so if there not on here i haven't seen them yet, and are planning to. These really in no particular order, other then 1 and 2.
These days it's hard to find a horror film that really touches you deeply in the nightmarish kind of way true horror really should. The more recent Hollywood spectacles may look good but lack true depth, often providing a humanistic outlook frosted with a prudishly moral acceptance of empty concepts. In short, I rarely see anthing that more than skirts the edges of true horror. Sometimes you have to look really hard, both into the past and to films that aren't produced by the formulaic cemetery for cinema which calls itself an industry. The idea is to include some of them here. I'm going to try to suggest in short some of the reasons why I've added them to the list (with as few spoilers as possible); the ultimate plan is to include at my website more detailed analyses and descriptions which you can find here: http://www.nachtschimmen.eu/places/projects/HorrorCultClassics.htm. I'm planning to include the films that didn't make the list and why. Any suggestions are welcome; I'd love to be made aware of more truly weird and exceptional horror films that may be worthy of this list.
Well, this is my humble opinion of best movies ever made. There are many, many more that I admire and I wasn't quite sure which to put in the list, but eventually chose these. I tried to equally represent nearly every movie genre, except those awful "romantic comedies", preachy liberal pap (especially found in Spielberg's, Oliver Stone's and Michael Moore's films) and boring and self indulgent euro-dramas (Godard, Bergman, Wenders).
A list with all the movies I have ever seen... sorted by year and ranked from favorite to least liked from the respective year.
Genre films- The films that the academy ignores; the supernatural, B-movie, superhero, type, things that are sci-fi, horror, things like that.
The gate of all horror & zombie movies , you'll find all about these kinds of movies . also you can share your movies and speak about it ...
I made this list by searching over internet, it's not according to my opinion or taste. I get movies barely real scary. I want some ghost movies that will make me awake...scared of dark....even make me scream...cry. If, you want to add names such kind of movie, just leave the movie name in comment....I'm looking forward to get some real pieces of horrors form you ;)
List and ratings/blurbs of films I've seen in 1981. List ordered by release date.
These are some movies i have seen i am a big fan of horror movies please suggest me any other good horror thriller movies you recommend this list is not in any order its just random horror movies i have seen so far,,
My personal ten favorite horror movies. I didn't include "Shaun of the Dead" because it's more of a comedy film to me.
These are my personal, favourite top 30 horror films that I currently own/have seen. Enjoy! ;)
Hey everyone I have a big interest in violent horror films and this is a list of the most extreme, gory and disturbing stuff I have watched :)
The macabre motion pictures I clutch most fiercely to my film-loving heart.
I love zombies and i have watched a lot of zombie-films. These are the 100 best.
The first 60 are really good, a must-watch for zombie lovers! The rest are not so good, or they don't have modern zombies (like "I walked with a zombie").

the real list by a 14year old horror fan. comment what you think will update when i can
These are my personal opinion, not fact. While the plot in some of these movies may be lacking, I chose movies that had at least one scene that made me react negatively, such as jumping or covering my eyes. These aren't in any particular order. Hope you all enoy!
The title says... most of it. Defining "film" can be a little tricky (or "feature film" or even "motion picture," though that's probably the easiest). I am including historically significant shorts, such as "Alice in Wonderland" (1903), which is under 9 minutes long. I am not including animated or modern shorts such as "Bad Luck Blackie" (1949) or "Killing Me Softly" (2008) (both of which I've seen). They are not feature films in terms of length. Either is "Alice," but it is historically significant. (Yes, I know "Blackie" is too, but my lists, my (always changing) definitions.) Direct-to-video is acceptable. Though I'm not making it a point to include them, I simply won't reject a movie based on that. I am not including made-for-TV movies like "And the Band Played On" (1993). And no documentaries, or obviously television programs.
I welcome feedback on what should or should not be included (convince me animated shorts should be on here, for instance!). Just keep in mind this is simply what I have seen, not my favorites.

Whether you’re in the mood for something "fun and innocent", a "campy parody” or something that makes you say “it’s only a movie”, here’s a list of my favorite horror flicks! You'll laugh, scream, jump and possibly put your feet up on the couch. Celebrating Halloween 365 days of the year!
This list is meant for any newcomers to the horror genre and veterans alike that would like a fright on those dark and stormy nights. I tried to concentrate on movies that are creepy, atmospheric, and suspenseful as opposed outright gore-fests. At this time they are in no real order of importance. Hope you enjoy these films as much as I have. -AJC
Awesome movies on my shelve's. I'm just looking over and putting the names of the movies i own, some of them!
I made a list a few months ago before I knew you could edit after publication. This list is current and will change every now and then. Comment, recommend similar titles, praise, troll, whatever, enjoy.
As I've said in some of my other list's I love campy horror so some of these are not for everybody. and as always these are not in order the only one that is defiantly in the right place is the first one. there are others that I love but I chose not to add them for various reasons.
Obviously never an easy list for any film lover but these are 50 of my best, in no particular order (because that would be impossible). Most are from the 90's and this is no coincidence as I regard that to be probably the best decade for films in history.
This a list of my favorites and a work in progress: great films from a great decade.
I may add more movies, if i get some new favorites. Pls recommend some movies! :)
pls check out my other list : http://www.imdb.com/list/t-b1TClsDz8/ !! :)

I think the title is pretty self-explanatory. In no particular order.
These are the only movies periodicly through my life that have gave me any sense of fear or made me not want to be in the dark haha
just a list of the absolute best and most bizarre films ever ....if your looking for something good. You will surely find something worth watching in this list just choose yer genre to narrow it down.
50 Films that I feel should belong in the Criterion Collection
Picks for those new to horror; I'd advise you to watch Eraserhead last. Mostly 80s B-movies; Evil Dead II and Killer Klowns are horror comedy at its finest.
A list by horrorfanzine.com. The reasons for each movie are listed on the site above.
My favorites to date not really in any order. Most titles I saw on vhs first time round as a young teenager, back when films were still scary. These are mostly from the 70s and 80s (the golden age of horror) before CGI ruined it all. Saw fans, do one!
Zombies are distinct from ghosts, mummies, or vampires, so this list does not include films devoted to these types of undead. (Kung Fu Zombie Vs Tigerkralle is not on imdb)
in no particular order, also take a look at my list of "horror movies not to watch", and other lists
This list contains my top 150 horror films that I have seen and really enjoyed. These are my top rated horror films and are in order from my favourite film, (which I found really hard to put them into order). I have tried to include as many horror sub genres as i can including horror comedies and horror thrillers. i have also included a range of classic horror films and foreign horrors. If anyone has any recommendations based on this list please let me know!
The Director of Public Prosecutions is the officer charged with the prosecution of criminal offences in several criminal jurisdictions around the world.
but still can enjoy watching this movies now and again.
but be aware, to watch most of the movies you should have a strong stomach and bigger heart too, enjoy!

Based on my own movie collection, this are the most gory and blood splattered films. Oh yes, there are lot more around, but I'm based in what I have and what I saw.
My own personal list. For the top ten films in the list I will give a brief summary of the movies and why I picked to help make my point. Please enjoy, and give feedback whether you liked or not. Also feel free to put any movies of this category that you enjoyed that you thought should have been on the list.

My opinion of course :) Ghost films freak me the most which is why I do not include alot of slashers and or monsters and such. Basically its films that have potential to be real ie: Spirits, Demons and possessions of sorts. Oh and another thing, some of these movies I am not a fan of ie: PA, (havent even seen the 3 sequels), but I tried to compile this list with films that are pretty freaky and with ones that the general public find terrifying.
This is just a list of films that I've seen. To help me keep track of what I need to see and what I've already seen.
