- DirectorJohn LasseterStarsTom HanksTim AllenDon RicklesA cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman action figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's bedroom. This has aged really well, it is an astonishing achievement for Animation and a great first movie for Pixar.
(8.1) - DirectorJohn LasseterAndrew StantonStarsKevin SpaceyDavid FoleyJulia Louis-DreyfusA misfit ant, looking for "warriors" to save his colony from greedy grasshoppers, recruits a group of bugs that turn out to be an inept circus troupe.A step down from Toy Story and hasn't aged as well but still a solid movie.
(7.0) - DirectorJohn LasseterAsh BrannonLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackWhen Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends set out on a rescue mission to save Woody before he becomes a museum toy property with his roundup gang Jessie, Prospector, and Bullseye.A great sequel to the original Toy Story that expands upon the world and characters.
(8.2) - DirectorPete DocterDavid SilvermanLee UnkrichStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanMary GibbsIn order to power the city, monsters have to scare children so that they scream. However, the children are toxic to the monsters, and after a child gets through, two monsters realize things may not be what they think.A good movie set in an interesting world, the relationship between Mike and Scully is great.
(8.0) - DirectorAndrew StantonLee UnkrichStarsAlbert BrooksEllen DeGeneresAlexander GouldAfter his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home. This is a fun adventure across the Pacific with wacky hijinks along the way. The ocean feels vast and lived in, the best looking film so far.
(7.9) - DirectorBrad BirdStarsCraig T. NelsonSamuel L. JacksonHolly HunterWhile trying to lead a quiet suburban life, a family of undercover superheroes are forced into action to save the world. The best film so far. A great superhero movie with great action and a fun adventure, despite the animation being dated, it still looks pretty good.
(8.2) - DirectorJohn LasseterJoe RanftStarsOwen WilsonBonnie HuntPaul NewmanOn the way to the biggest race of his life, a hotshot rookie race car gets stranded in a rundown town and learns that winning isn't everything in life. This is the black sheep of the Golden Age, not to say it isn't good enough but compared to the other movies this stands out. Better than A Bug's Life though.
(7.3) - DirectorBrad BirdJan PinkavaStarsBrad GarrettLou RomanoPatton OswaltA rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant.Pixar's magnum opus. This movie's setting is great, it's message is great, it's concept is great, the score is great. Good job.
(8.5) - DirectorAndrew StantonStarsBen BurttElissa KnightJeff GarlinIn the distant future, a small waste-collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.A story of a robot finding love sounds corny but this movie is done so beautifully, the first half hour is almost silent as Wall-E explores the wastes of Earth and is so well done.
(8.4) - DirectorPete DocterBob PetersonStarsEdward AsnerJordan NagaiJohn Ratzenberger78-year-old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his house equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway. The montage at the beginning is amazing, but is the best bit of the film. Not to say the rest is bad, because it isn't, the adventure is fun, and emotional with the best Pixar score accompanying it.
(8.2) - DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home. The best Toy Story movie, the whole concept of this movie is great and is so well done. The prison break I'd amazing and the ending ends the Toy Story trilogy on a high, just forget Toy Story 4.
(8.4) - DirectorJohn LasseterBradford LewisStarsOwen WilsonLarry the Cable GuyMichael CaineStar race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. After an insane 4 movie winning streak, this movie happens. This is undoubtedly the worst Pixar movie ever, why did they make a spy film?
(6.0) - DirectorMark AndrewsBrenda ChapmanSteve PurcellStarsKelly MacdonaldBilly ConnollyEmma ThompsonDetermined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse. This movie is mid at best. You can't tell if this is a Pixar or Disney movie.
(6.8) - DirectorDan ScanlonStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanSteve BuscemiA look at the relationship between Mike Wazowski and James P. "Sully" Sullivan during their days at Monsters University, when they weren't necessarily the best of friends. After the past 2 surprisingly mediocre Pixar movies, this is a surprisingly good prequel to Monster's Inc.
(7.4) - DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. Finally, another great Pixar movie. While the concept feels so bland and interesting, it's execution is well done and portrays depression quite well.
(8.0) - DirectorPeter SohnStarsJeffrey WrightFrances McDormandMaleah Nipay-PadillaIn a world where dinosaurs and humans live side-by-side, an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend.Oh well. Other than the amazing animation, this movie is so boring and bland with nothing interesting.
(6.6) - DirectorAndrew StantonAngus MacLaneStarsEllen DeGeneresAlbert BrooksEd O'NeillFriendly but forgetful blue tang Dory begins a search for her long-lost parents and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.A lacklustre sequel to Finding Nemo with a crazy ending that feels out of place.
(6.9) - DirectorBrian FeeStarsOwen WilsonCristela AlonzoChris CooperLightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he's still the best race car in the world.A mediocre ending to a franchise that stopped being good after the first one. This movie is just kinda boring.
(6.6) - DirectorLee UnkrichAdrian MolinaStarsAnthony GonzalezGael García BernalBenjamin BrattAspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.Thankyou Pixar for a great movie portraying Mexican culture so wonderfully and death with respect.
(8.3) - DirectorBrad BirdStarsCraig T. NelsonHolly HunterSarah VowellThe Incredibles family takes on a new mission which involves a change in family roles: Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) must manage the house while his wife Helen (Elastigirl) goes out to save the world. What a let done following on from the first movie. This movie is still decent, but compared to what it could have been, missed potential.
(7.4) - DirectorJosh CooleyStarsTom HanksTim AllenAnnie PottsWhen a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy.Despite this being unnecessary after Toy Story 3, this is still a solid movie with a cool setting and an emotional ending that will eventually be retconed by Toy Story 5.
(7.6) - DirectorDan ScanlonStarsTom HollandChris PrattJulia Louis-DreyfusIn a magical world full of technological advances, elven brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot set out on an adventure to resurrect their late father for a day. This is a decent adventure with wacky hijinks in a world that could of been cool, but isn't.
(7.1) - DirectorPete DocterKemp PowersStarsJamie FoxxTina FeyGraham NortonJoe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn't quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz. But when he travels to another realm to help someone find their passion, he soon discovers what it means to have soul. It's a movie that wants to be like a pixar all-time great but just misses. The ending felt sugar-coated and not impactful.
(7.8) - DirectorEnrico CasarosaStarsJacob TremblayJack Dylan GrazerEmma BermanOn the Italian Riviera, an unlikely but strong friendship grows between a human being and a sea monster disguised as a human.A decent movie with a cool setting but nothing special.
(7.2) - DirectorDomee ShiStarsRosalie ChiangSandra OhAva MorseA thirteen-year-old girl named Mei Lee is torn between staying her mother's dutiful daughter and the changes of adolescence. And as if the challenges were not enough, whenever she gets overly excited she transforms into a giant red panda.Personally, I don't like this film. It has an interesting concept for a Pixar movie, but the result is cringe endusing.
(6.2) - DirectorAngus MacLaneStarsChris EvansKeke PalmerPeter SohnWhile spending years attempting to return home, marooned Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear encounters an army of ruthless robots commanded by Zurg who are attempting to steal his fuel source. This movie is downright mediocre, and the way they set the movie up is so weirdly confusing.
(6.5) - DirectorPeter SohnStarsLeah LewisMamoudou AthieRonnie Del CarmenFollows Ember and Wade, in a city where fire-, water-, earth- and air-residents live together. This is a surprisingly good film even if it feels like Zootopia but not as good. The animation style is interesting, and the concept is cool.
