A riveting story of transformation and healing, the documentary portrays the farmers' sometimes amazing connections with the animals under their care, while also providing insight into the complex web of social, psychological and economic forces that have led to their inner conflict. Interwoven with the farmers' stories is the dramatic animal rescue work of a newly-trained humane police officer whose sense of justice puts her at odds with the law she is charged to uphold. With strikingly honest interviews and rare footage demonstrating the emotional lives and intense family bonds of animals most often viewed as living commodities, this groundbreaking documentary shatters stereotypical notions of farmers, farm life, and perhaps most surprisingly, farm animals themselves.

'Coming Off The DL' shows hows Frank and Nick are overcoming the physical, academic, and social challenges of cerebral palsy and changing the way people see ability.
- DirectorPamela PeakStarsLee AaronAdrianna White EagleVictoria LeighAfter experiencing some personal mid-life tragedy, producer/director Pamela Peak goes on a quest to find a few of her unusually close grade school classmates from the turbulent and racially-charged 1960s. With the help of her third-grade boyfriend "Timmy", Pamela locates all 32 members of their unusual class. To her surprise, each member of this dynamic class is just as excited to hear from Pamela, as she is to speak with them. With each classmate found, the exact words are spoken, "Where is Mr. Bell? He impacted my life more than any other teacher." The quest to find their beloved Mr. Bell begins. Mr. Bell was a giant of a man in character. He was the first African American teacher they had ever had. He had touched their hearts and minds and shaped their young spirits. When Mr. Bell is found (now close to 70 years old), another miracle of sorts occurs; despite his long career as an educator and principal, he remembers each and every one of them in vivid detail . . . and what they wanted to be when they grew up! The violence of the 1967 Detroit race-riots impacted their young lives in many ways. They experienced the embracing of new black students into their close-knit class. Through that experience they began to understand the black perspective first-hand. As surrounding violence escalated, Mr. Bells class was scattered, never to see each other again until 35 five years later. They never knew what losing each other meant to their childhoods until their childhood joy comes flooding back to them as adults. And when they compare notes at almost ½ century into their lives, they realize that their favorite African American teacher (their beloved "Mr. Bell") had impacted each of their lives and guided them personally in more profound ways than they ever realized. What started out to be a personal journey of discovery for one woman (Pamela Peak) suddenly touched the hearts of millions across America. On Dr. King's Birthday in 2004, ABC News presented the story of their emotional reunion honoring their beloved teacher, "Mr. Bell" The timeless lessons of love and nonviolence proved to be as pertinent today as when they were first taught 35 years ago.

- DirectorRhett McLaughlinLink NealUsing only word of mouth, two lifelong best friends and Internet comedians, Rhett & Link, embark on a search for the long-lost teacher of the first grade class where they met. Their journey leads them deep into the heart of an obscure tribe of Native Americans, the Lumbee of North Carolina. Serendipitously, Rhett & Link arrive on the scene at the very climax of the tribe's century-long political struggle for identity. In a day of mobile devices that allow for a multitude of superficial connections with other 'users,' the unforgettable characters in Looking for Ms. Locklear serve as a reminder that people have more to say than an email or text message can communicate.

- DirectorFrank WolfStarsTaku HokoyamaFrank WolfFrom Portage and Main in downtown Winnipeg to the family cottage near Parry Sound in Ontario, filmmaker Frank Wolf and his inexperienced friend Taku Hokoyama tackle raging rapids and grueling portages on a 3,100 km canoe trip through Canada's Boreal forest in an effort to shed light on the issues now facing the wilderness area. The Boreal Wilderness is a massive swath of forest that lies just north of the Canada-US border. It contains 25 % of the world's remaining ancient forest and is globally significant in its ability to filter water, keep carbon levels in check, and operate as a species habitat. Manitoba and Ontario are home to the largest intact forest area. The remote location has kept it safe for many years, but current interest from the forestry, hydro, and mining industries now threatens the sanctity of the forest. Deeply committed to their mission and message but never didactic, Frank and Taku, with their offbeat sense of humor, provide an intimate look into the current environmental and social issues facing the region. This is not a typical nature documentary, however. Our amiable guides cope with bears, black flies and flat tires in order to educate and entertain us over the course of their 75-day adventure.

- DirectorLaura BartonJudy WilderStarsMolly IvinsAnnie SprinkleCarol QueenIn the early 1900's, a new invention (and one of the very first uses of the electric motor) was created to address the 'problem' of women's hysteria. These devices immediately became an essential household appliance, and were advertised in nearly every women's magazine and sewing notions catalog of the time. 70 Years later, these appliances were condemned as 'perverted sex toys,' and became the subject of heated debate among lawmakers. In California, Texas, and several other states, conservative politicians successfully waged legislative campaigns to outlaw and prohibit the sale, ownership or use of vibrators and dildos while simultaneously criminalizing other 'deviant' sexual practices. Although a number of these laws have been overturned by legislatures or the courts, in the State of Texas freedom fighters are still working to eliminate these absurd and unnecessary laws. Dildo Diaries takes a lighthearted but 'probing' approach to exploring the development of sections of the Texas Penal Code and its effects on the adult sex toy industry. Combining historical documentation, personal stories, and interviews with noted experts and legislators, this documentary honors the dildo's fight for legitimacy and its many admirers.

AMERICA STRIPPED, David Palmer's acclaimed documentary, is a no holds barred behind the curtain exploration which follows Friedler's own personal search into the underbelly of Vegas to capture its wide array and at times bizarre denizens who when stripped of clothing and society's judgments in front of his lens discover an even playing field of beauty, humanity and ultimately self love. This film contains nudity.

- DirectorSuzanne ChisholmMichael ParfitStarsMichael ParfitSaving Luna is a feature-length documentary about Luna, a lone baby killer whale who gets separated from his family in a remote Vancouver Island fjord. When Luna seeks companionship from people, he breaks a fundamental barrier built of mutual fear and ignorance that normally exists between humans and wild beings. This shattering of convention leads to joy, confusion and anger. In a magnificent landscape, different groups of people fight over their wildly differing views of who Luna is, and what we need to do to save him. To natives he's the spirit of a chief. To boaters he's a goofy friend. To conservationists he's a cause. To scientists he's trouble. To officials he's a danger. To the filmmakers, Suzanne Chisholm and Michael Parfit, he's a lone, lovable street kid whale. Eventually, as more and more people advocate Luna's death, Michael and Suzanne become intricately involved in the efforts to protect him. They believe he can be protected if he is simply given the friendship he seeks. But that's not so easy. Finally, as conflict and tragedy stain the waters, Luna becomes a symbol of the world's wildest beauty: wonderful to know, but so hard to save.
