I'm not sure I'm going to love this film but as a follow up to District 9 I really want to see it.

- DirectorSebastián LelioStarsPaulina GarcíaSergio HernándezDiego FontecillaA story set in Santiago and centered on Gloria, a free-spirited older woman, and the realities of her whirlwind relationship with a former naval officer whom she meets out in the clubs.Opened to rave reviews at Berlinale 2013 in the competition section of the festival. Considering this is one of the few titles to receive accolades in the competition section at Berlinale I hope and pray it makes its way to the United States
- DirectorRichard LinklaterStarsEthan HawkeJulie DelpySeamus Davey-FitzpatrickWe meet Jesse and Celine nine years on in Greece. Almost two decades have passed since their first meeting on that train bound for Vienna.
- DirectorNat FaxonJim RashStarsSteve CarellToni ColletteAllison JanneyShy 14-year-old Duncan goes on summer vacation with his mother, her overbearing boyfriend, and her boyfriend's daughter. Having a rough time fitting in, Duncan finds an unexpected friend in Owen, manager of the Water Wizz water park. Also a Sundance 2013 premiere, I've heard this title being referred to as the Summer 2013 sleeper comedy, which means it should be an enjoyable Indie in a sea of summer Blockbuster nonsense. Fox Searchlight wouldn't have taken the gamble on this film if it didn't think it could do something with it I think.
- DirectorJerusha HessStarsKeri RussellJJ FeildJennifer CoolidgeObsessed with Pride and Prejudice (1995), a woman travels to a Jane Austen theme park in search for her perfect gentleman.I read some positive buzz about this film coming out of Sundance so I'm not setting high expectations but I think I will enjoy it when all is said and done.
- DirectorDerek CianfranceStarsRyan GoslingBradley CooperEva MendesTwo men and their sons must deal with the unforeseen consequences of their actions.I'm a Derek Cianfrance fan and not just because he is a Colorado native. I really enjoyed Blue Valentine and anticipating this film since it premiered at Toronto last September.
- DirectorNeill BlomkampStarsMatt DamonJodie FosterSharlto CopleyIn the year 2154, the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth. A man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.
- DirectorDavid LoweryStarsRooney MaraCasey AffleckBen FosterThe tale of an outlaw who escapes from prison and sets out across the Texas hills to reunite with his wife and the daughter he has never met. This is another well reviewed film at Sundance this year that I will definitely see. Rooney Mara really impressed me with her performances in Girl with a Dragon Tattoo and Side Effects so I am devouring anything else she is doing right now.
- DirectorJacques DoillonStarsSara ForestierJames ThierréeLouise SzpindelA woman returns to her village after her father's death, who has never loved. She meets a man who spends his days cultivating the land and writing. Each of their meetings will culminate in a need for them to confront physically.I probably will never get an opportunity to see this film in the U.S. because of it NC-17 sexual content but I remain hopeful.
- DirectorDavid Gordon GreenStarsPaul RuddEmile HirschLance LeGaultTwo highway road workers spend the summer of 1988 away from their city lives. The isolated landscape becomes a place of misadventure as the men find themselves at odds with each other and the women they left behind.Selected for both Sundance and Berlinale I have to know how Paul Rudd can entertain me for an hour and a half by paving roads in Texas.
- DirectorJordan Vogt-RobertsStarsNick RobinsonGabriel BassoMoises AriasThree teenage friends, in the ultimate act of independence, decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land.Once of the less polarizing and more positively reviewed titles in the US. Dramatic competition at Sundance this year, I'm excited to generate my own opinion on this film.
- DirectorShane CarruthStarsAmy SeimetzFrank MosleyShane CarruthA man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.I have so much trepidation in seeing this film, which will come to Denver on April 5. So many critics have fallen head of heel for this title both at Sundance and at Berlinale this year. I plan on seeing Primer before this film but I am so worried that it is going to be so obscure in a Terrence Malick like way that I will not grasp any of it.
- DirectorJohn KrokidasStarsDaniel RadcliffeDane DeHaanMichael C. HallA murder in 1944 draws together the great poets of the beat generation: Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, and William Burroughs.I have heard amazing things about this film. I've heard it really is a standout performance for Daniel Radcliffe. It was probably the number one title I wish I could have seen at this year's Sundance that I missed out on.
- DirectorSusanne BierStarsBradley CooperJennifer LawrenceRhys IfansIn Depression-era North Carolina, the future of George Pemberton's timber empire becomes complicated when he marries Serena.
