There is always a good actor in a disappointing movie...
We all make mistakes and we are all human. Every actor/actress features in a bad movie or a disappointing movie that does not live up to it's potential. In my opinion, here are a select few.

- DirectorTom DeyStarsRobert De NiroEddie MurphyRene RussoA spoof of buddy cop movies where two very different cops are forced to team up on a new reality based television cop show, while tracking down the manufacturer and distributor of an illegally made semi-automatic firearm. On paper this could have easily been a decent comedy. On the screen, it is a huge disappointment. Such as shame, because I was really looking to seeing Robert De Niro and Eddie Murphy on the screen.
- DirectorJoel SchumacherStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerGeorge ClooneyChris O'DonnellBatman and Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City. The movie that almost killed the franchise. Everything is wrong with it. Thankfully Batman Begins erased the bad memories of Batman and Robin. Whether Robin is yet to be seen in another Batman movie is another matter.
- DirectorAndrew DavisStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerJohn LeguizamoFrancesca NeriAfter his family is killed by a terrorist act, a firefighter goes in search of the one responsible.Arnold Schwarzenegger was my childhood hero growing up. He could do no wrong. Collateral Damage definitely wasn't his best movie, and the events of September 11 completely destroyed it's box office chances. Although in saying that, the script was poorly executed.
- DirectorKevin SmithStarsBruce WillisTracy MorganJuan Carlos HernándezJimmy's rare baseball card is robbed. Since it's his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, he recruits his cop partner Paul to track down the robber, a memorabilia-obsessed gangster.Cop Out is literally that, a cop out. Not funny in the slightest and the script tries WAY too hard to be funny. I'm still waiting for the joke or even a funny scene.
- DirectorJim GillespieStarsSylvester StalloneCharles S. DuttonPolly WalkerA lead detective being stalked by a serial killer is asked to check into a clinic treating law enforcement officials who can't face their jobs.Definitely not one of Sylvester Stallone's finest moments. A total disappointment.
- DirectorRob CohenStarsSylvester StalloneAmy BrennemanViggo MortensenDisaster in a New York tunnel as explosions collapse both ends of it. One hero tries to help the people inside find their way to safety.I remember seeing a trailer of this when I was 12 years old thinking this going to be an awesome action flick. When I hired this out on video, I was so disappointed with the end result.
- DirectorRoger ChristianStarsJohn TravoltaForest WhitakerBarry PepperIt's the year 3000 A.D., and the Earth is lost to the alien race of Psychlos. Humanity is enslaved by these gold-thirsty tyrants, who are unaware that their 'man-animals' are about to ignite the rebellion of a lifetime. This was no surprise that it is one of the worst movies of all time. Made to fuel John Travolta's ego and the awareness of Scientology to the general public. I saw this on a bus trip once and after 20 minutes, I was put to sleep. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
- DirectorMichael KeuschStarsSteven SeagalEva PopeImelda StauntonAn intelligence operative discovers that no one is what they seem in the shadowy world of espionage. There's been a lot of awful Steven Seagal movies from his direct to video career now that he is no longer the huge box office draw card he once was. This movie takes the cake. It's atrocious film making at it's best.
- DirectorJoseph SargentStarsLorraine GaryLance GuestMario Van PeeblesChief Brody's widow believes that her family is deliberately being targeted by another shark in search of revenge.Michael Caine, what were you thinking?! And the movie itself, well it's a shadow of the 1975 box office blockbuster.
- DirectorHarold BeckerStarsAl PacinoJohn CusackBridget FondaThe accidental shooting of a boy in New York leads to an investigation by the Deputy Mayor, and unexpectedly far-reaching consequences.Very disappointing movie overall. I only saw it for Al Pacino.
- DirectorClint EastwoodStarsMatt DamonCécile de FranceBryce Dallas HowardAn American construction worker, a French journalist and a London school boy set out on a spiritual journey after death touches their lives in different ways. This didn't hold my interest. A disappointment for Matt Damon, and Director Clint Eastwood.
- DirectorPatrick LussierStarsNicolas CageAmber HeardWilliam FichtnerA vengeful father escapes from hell and chases after the men who killed his daughter and kidnapped his granddaughter.Nicolas Cage is not the awesome actor he used to be and the actor who used to be one of my top 5 favourite actors growing up. Leaving Las Vegas, The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off are some of his most memorable movies. This was just awful and certainly not a highlight for him.
- DirectorRoger SpottiswoodeStarsMel GibsonRobert Downey Jr.Nancy TravisA young pilot finds himself recruited unwittingly into a covert and corrupt CIA airlift operation in Laos during the Vietnam conflict.Mel Gibson and Robert Downey Jr, two mighty box office draw cards. What could have gone wrong?! The script just did not work and the jokes are too corny. Ultimately it can't decide whether it is an action/adventure or a comedy or even a drama.
- DirectorM. Night ShyamalanStarsMark WahlbergZooey DeschanelJohn LeguizamoA science teacher, his wife, and a young girl struggle to survive a plague that causes those infected to commit suicide. Not Mark Wahlberg's best. M. Night Shyamalan might just be known as a one hit wonder for the rest of his career (The Sixth Sense).
- DirectorJohn CurranStarsEdward NortonMilla JovovichRobert De NiroA convicted arsonist looks to manipulate a parole officer into a plan to secure his parole by placing his beautiful wife in the lawman's path.Robert De Niro and Edward were a great pairing in The Score (2001). Seeing those two reunited had me interested, but ultimately the film was a total disappointment.
- DirectorJudd ApatowStarsAdam SandlerSeth RogenLeslie MannWhen seasoned comedian George Simmons learns of his terminal, inoperable health condition, his desire to form a genuine friendship causes him to take a relatively green performer under his wing as his opening act.Unfunny movie. Adam Sandler hasn't been in a decent movie for a long while now.
- DirectorPaul VerhoevenStarsElizabeth BerkleyKyle MacLachlanGina GershonA mysterious young drifter who calls herself Nomi Malone hitches a ride to Las Vegas, Nevada, and begins working as a strip club dancer, and sets about clawing her way to the top of the Vegas showgirls. This is definitely the notoriously worst movie of all time. Anyone who was even associated with this movie must be wondering what the hell is this rubbish. And Paul Verhoeven, shame on you!
- DirectorBob RafelsonStarsSamuel L. JacksonMilla JovovichStellan SkarsgårdWhile doing a friend a favor and searching for a runaway teenager, a police detective stumbles upon a bizarre band of criminals about to pull off a bank robbery.Looked like a decent movie, but ultimately a terrible one. Samuel L Jackson was the only decent actor in this movie.
- DirectorLee TamahoriStarsIce CubeSamuel L. JacksonWillem DafoeDarius Stone, a new agent in the xXx program, is sent to Washington, D.C. to stop a coup attempt against the President of the United States. The first XXX was far fetched and a bit overrated, but this is by far the worst.
- DirectorPitofStarsHalle BerrySharon StoneBenjamin BrattA shy woman, endowed with the speed, reflexes, and senses of a cat, walks a thin line between criminal and hero, even as a detective doggedly pursues her, fascinated by both of her personas.Halle Berry's worst career move to star in this garbage, and sadly her career has not recovered. Such a shame.
- DirectorRon SheltonStarsHarrison FordJosh HartnettIsaiah WashingtonTwo LAPD detectives who moonlight in other fields investigate the murder of an up-and-coming rap group.Had the potential to be a hit, but ultimately didn't work. Harrison Ford, I don't know what you were thinking. Josh Hartnett who was riding off the success of Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down saw his career go down the gurgler.
- DirectorMike BigelowStarsRob SchneiderEddie GriffinJeroen KrabbéDeuce is tricked again into man-whoring by T.J., only in Amsterdam while other man-whores are being murdered in his midst. The first Deuce Bigalow is hilarious, this was just unfunny and relied too much on gross sex jokes.
- DirectorCarlo U. QuinterioStarsHugh GrantTahnee WelchMalcolm McDowellA young man on his way to Venice to deliver his book exposing the neo-Nazi movement is suddenly stalked by a stranger, trialed by a pack of wild dogs and nearly killed. Most actors need to stick to doing what they do best. Hugh Grant should stick to comedy. He sucks in every other genre.
- DirectorSam WeismanStarsSteve MartinGoldie HawnJohn CleeseThe remake of the 1970 Neil Simon comedy follows the adventures of married couple Henry and Nancy Clark as they are vexed by misfortune while in New York City for a job interview. Not impressed at how unfunny this was. Not in the slightest. Very painful.
- DirectorAndy GarciaStarsAndy GarciaInés SastreBill MurrayA wealthy Havana club owner and his family are torn apart by the violent sociopolitical upheaval brought about by the transition from the dictatorial regime of Batista to the Marxist revolution led by Fidel Castro in 1950s Cuba.Good actors but overall, zzzzzzzzzz. Boring!
