The Most Overrated TV Series/Shows
The most overrated TV shows/series - of course in my opinion, in no particular order - almost!
If you think any of these is among the best TV Series you have watched, then you most certainly have not watched enough. Try broadening your perspective beyond what the media and ads feed you and get out of your comfort-zone, and I promise you will be surprised.
There are a few basic rules that could easily give you clues on what to expect from a TV show/series:
1. If you see a series/show is being advertised or promoted too many times anywhere you go, then you could bet there is a high chance it is either overrated or poor, or both.
2. Look into non-English TV shows and series. Many of the best I have watched are non-English.
3. If you still would like to stick to English language series, British TV series have a far higher standard in all aspects of directing, plots, cinematography, and acting compared to the American ones. In my experience, one in two highly-rated British ones are worth watching, while for the American ones, that comes down to 1 in 20, at best. Another strong point of the British series compared to American shows are how dense and efficient they plot everything, avoiding any bloating moments and fillers. The target is never making a full 13-episode season. It is mostly the overall quality.
4. Avoid American re-makes of anything - 99.99% of the time they are shockingly bad!
