- The title Radio Romans is a private radio station operating in Gdansk. Its founders and bosses are Wanda and Andrzej Kreft (Dorota Kolak and Krzysztof Stelmaszyk). Basia and Marek Zwolinscy (Beata Scibakówna and Igor Michalski), poet Antoni Wereszczaka (Miroslaw Baka) and young, ambitious journalists Darek Igielski and Stefan Chocholak, as well as secretary Bozenka have been working in the company from the beginning. Their personal lives, often complicated, are inseparably intertwined with their professional work.
- Christmas is traditionally a time of reconciliation, meeting of loved ones that we rarely see every day. Paradoxically, it is also a time when, despite the declared joy and mutual kindness, a spark is enough to break out an old family conflict. The heroes of the film are victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. Sometimes they stand on both sides of the same barricade. On the eve of Christmas, Malgorzata has to run away from home, Krystyna hopes that this time her husband will not be at home, because only then can she count on peace. Maciej, who is a perpetrator of domestic violence, feels like a victim himself. Carols that fill the film's soundtrack, instead of softening its pronunciation and giving hope, become a painful and ironic counterpoint.
