Apple TV+ has dropped the trailer for the four-part documentary series ‘Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn,’ telling the riveting story of CEO-turned-fugitive Carlos Ghosn and his relentless climb to the top of the corporate ladder, shocking arrest, and unbelievable escape that stunned the world
The series features in-depth access to all of the key players in the saga, including Mike Taylor, the former Green Beret who orchestrated Ghosn’s harrowing escape, and the man in the middle of it all – Carlos Ghosn – who, for the first time, tells his side of this ongoing, global news story, from start to finish.
Inspired by the acclaimed book “Boundless,” by The Wall Street Journal reporters Nick Kostov and Sean McLain, the series includes never-before-seen interviews and footage with the prime players who lived in the Ghosn orbit, his rise to corporate power in Japan, his several arrests and the details of his harrowing escape to Lebanon.

Ben Whishaw won Leading Actor, Drama for This Is Going To Hurt., while The Traitors nabbed two awards, both in its category and for host Claudia Winkleman in Entertainment Performance.
The public, meanwhile, voted Paddington's meeting with the Queen as part of last year's Jubilee celebrations as Memorable Moment.

BAFTA gave out their Craft Awards on Sunday, 23 April. As with the Primetime Emmys, the British academy also devotes a weekend to celebrating the creative arts. The BAFTA TV Craft Awards are split into 20 categories, with six devoted to fictional programming, six to factual programming, and a further four in combined fields.
The BBC medical drama “This is Going to Hurt” won three awards — Editing (Fiction), Scripted Casting, and Writer (Drama) for show creator Adam Kay. Kay adapted his best-selling memoir, which chronciled his experiences as a doctor in the NHS. Kay won in a stacked category that included Pete Jackson (“Somewhere Boy”), Alice Oseman (“Heartstopper) and Tony Schumacher (“The Responder”). “This is Going to Hurt” will contend at the Emmys in the limited series categories.
Meanwhile, Writer (Comedy) went to Lisa McGee for her work on “Derry Girls,” which follows a teenage girl and family in friends in 1990s Northern Ireland.

The Russian nuclear reactor meltdown catastrophe known as Chernobyl was a once-in-a-lifetime disaster that shook the world. Craig Mazin explored much of it in a dramatized manner in HBO’s acclaimed “Chernobyl” mini-series, but there’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the event. And now, 36 years later, we’re closer to solving them. “Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes” is a Sky Original documentary that shows newly uncovered archival footage and recorded interviews with those who were present at the time of the disaster.

"Nobody was warned by anybody, schools and kindergartens were open." HBO has revealed the official trailer for a chilling new documentary called Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes, from talented doc filmmaker James Jones. This premiered at the Full Frame Doc Festival and will be streaming on HBO Max this month. This powerful and at times graphic film tells the story of the disaster and its far-reaching ripple effects entirely through extraordinary, immersive footage - all shot on-site in the hours, days, weeks, months following the accident. Deeply personal witness testimony helps contextualize the tragedy by providing an overview of life in Chernobyl before the meltdown and its harrowing aftermath. Government propaganda films also illustrate the Soviet Union’s pride in its nuclear program and the many delayed and misleading reports. Everyone knows the story, and there was that great HBO series in 2019, but most of this real footage has never been seen before until now.

With its list of new releases for June 2022, HBO Max is joining in what should be a TV summer to remember.
Not content to let Netflix’s Stranger Things or Prime Video’s The Boys to dominate the summer TV landscape, HBO is coming through with a new season of one of its big hits. Westworld season 4 is set to premiere June 26 on both HBO and HBO Max. What will this season of the increasingly confusing sci-fi drama be about? Per HBO’s synopsis it will be “A dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on earth.” So you know, only that.
Irma Vep is the only other Max Original of note this month. Based on a 1996 cult classic of the same name, this limited series stars Alicia Vikander as a disillusioned movie star looking to remake the early 20th century French silent film serial Les Vampires.

Time never stops flowing, but film? Film is fixed. James Jones’s documentary, Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes will still exist in years to come, divorced of the date on which it was first released. Watch this in ten years’ time, fifty years time, a hundred years time, and it will remain a very good documentary about the Chernobyl disaster. That will be its context. If that’s all it ever is, then it will still have been worth the effort. It is, and will remain, a very good documentary about the Chernobyl disaster. Four stars. Recommended.
This review could have done the same thing. A review that would still work as an honest assessment of the film if read in 2072, just as hopefully it would in 2022. I could have written about why this is such a good documentary, about its impeccable journalistic credentials, astonishing access to previously unseen sources and beautiful framing.
