- TriviaThis episode is one of only a few in the run of the show in which the usual opening credit sequence (with the tortoises) is not seen. The titles and names of the primary actors are superimposed on the first scene of the story.
- GoofsAs the episode opens, Victor is announcing the number of leaves on a plant, seen at the end of the coffee table in front of the Meldrews. (He claims there are more leaves on it now than when they first came into the waiting room, implying they'd been there forever.) After the joke is over, the plant is never seen again, from that angle nor any other.
- Quotes
[last lines]
Victor Meldrew: You were always my first choice.
Margaret Meldrew: Was I? You've never said that before.
Victor Meldrew: No, well.
Margaret Meldrew: Oh, I suppose there's lots of things you never say. That you think about saying and something always crops up. Life goes on. Somehow you never quite get round to putting it into words.

Victor has zero patience.
Victor and Margaret are sat waiting in a Solicitor's office, Margaret waits patiently, Victor has zero patience, and finds all and sundry frustrating.
It is almost unfair to class this my least favourite episode of One foot in the Grave, but that it is, nog because it's bad, because it isn't, it's still very good, but I find this one an incredibly frustrating watch. It feels somewhat similar to the episode The Trial from the previous season, but Margaret is on hand to witness all of Victor's clowning around.
Victor was never a fool, but here he is verging on a tribute to Frank Spencer, he's excellent, but perhaps a little over the top.
Good, solid observational humour, but you need to be in the right frame of mind to appreciate this one.
Points for featuring Anthony Sher as Mr Prothetoe, although watching him fuss and fidget is hard work.
