Sometimes, we crave another chance, while we run away from it other times.
On When Calls the Heart Season 11 Episode 8, Tom Thornton attempted to make amends to those from whom J.B. Sweeney had conned money, and Joseph and Jacob Canfield settled a 20-year-long grudge.
Rosemary and Bill also met with Clayton Pike to clarify his name.
Even though the NYC police arrested J.B. Sweened and recovered the money that Ned wired them, Tom could still be charged as an accessory to fraud unless he paid back the money he owed Benson Hills and Jameson.
Tom was willing to take responsibility, but everyone stood behind, most of all Nathan and Elizabeth.
They formulated a plan to host their own choir festival with neighboring towns and collect donations.
Everyone was on board. The problem was Rosemary was so excited that she spilled the beans to Mayor Hickman, who wanted Tom arrested immediately.

Faced with the imminent death of her beloved mother, Ann, Priscilla Presley was comforted in knowing she was able to give her some peace. Priscilla says she played Elvis Presley‘s gospel music for her mother in her final hours, hoping it would bring her comfort.
Priscilla Presley’s beloved mother, Ann Iverson, died in 2021
In August 2021, Priscilla Presley told People Magazine that she knew her mother had reached the end of her life. Subsequently, she arranged for a religious blessing for Ann.
“I had a priest come in to give her her last rites about four days before she died. He told me, ‘Remember Priscilla, hearing is the last thing that goes, so say positive things for her spirit,'” she revealed.
Priscilla took that advice and played some of her late ex-husband‘s gospel music for her mother. She hoped it would comfort Anne in her final days.

Of all the incredible things Lana Del Rey has given us this year — an excellent album, her first concerts in over three years, even more “Snow on the Beach” — her greatest (if not inadvertent) gift might’ve been a brief, unofficial stint working at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama.
Back in July, videos and photos emerged of Del Rey sporting a Waffle House uniform — complete with a hastily-assembled Lana name tag — chatting with customers and her temporary co-workers, and even serving up a few dishes. It was, for lack of a more imaginative,...

The couple’s nanny, Yadira Calito, was killed after an accident in August.
David Foster and Katharine McPhee are still working through their grief. In August, the couple’s nanny, Yadira Calito, was killed following an accident.
“It’s been tough for her,” Foster tells Et in a joint interview with McPhee. “Yeah, it’s been tough. She’s managing.”
“Thank you,” McPhee adds.
On Aug. 11, McPhee shared that she would have to leave her and Foster’s Hitman Tour early, following a “horrible tragedy.”
Days later, the LAPD shared that Calito was a customer at the Hamer Toyota dealership service center in Mission Hills, California, when an 84-year-old woman crashed her Toyota RAV4 into the building, causing major damage and colliding with several people inside. Two employees, ages 23 and 35, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Calito, 55, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Other videos of the “Summertime Sadness” singer signing autographs in the Waffle House parking lot she was working at and an American Thrift Store parking lot were posted online. Del Rey was also recorded singing “Amazing Grace” to a Waffle House customer.
Why Del Rey was working there is unclear. Still, many have speculated that she was there to promote upcoming music connected to the city of Florence.

As we creep towards summer, Netflix has a hot new list of fresh content, including the final season of “Never Have I Ever,” the sophomore season of ‘Human Resources” and the highly anticipated sixth season of “Black Mirror.”
Kicking off the start of the month on mega streamer are lots of family-friendly goodies like both “Nanny McPhee” and “Nanny McPhee Returns,” “Kicking and Screaming,” “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius” and the “Angry Birds Movie.” But the adults won’t be left out of the conversation, as more mature flicks and series like “Jarhead,” “Funny People” and “We’re the Millers” are also hitting the platform this month.
And it wouldn’t be Netflix without its originals. “Take Care of Maya,” “Extraction 2” and the Sarah Snook-led “Run Rabit Run” will land on the site in June. And even if this isn’t enough to get you watching, Netflix will be streaming its Tudum festival on Saturday,...

In Netflix's thriller series "Beef," Steven Yeun plays Danny Cho, a struggling contractor who feels responsible for the failure of his parents' motel. In the very first episode, he gets into a road rage incident with Amy Lau (played by Ali Wong), a successful and wealthy businessperson who can't help but feel a lot of ennui about her life. It sets them both on a course toward mutual destruction, changing their lives and the lives of everyone they know forever.
During the series, Danny joins a Korean church in Orange County where the pastor is the husband of his ex-girlfriend. At first, Danny's involvement seems pretty self-interested, but he's taken aback by the emotional response he has to the service and the music there. Later in the series, during episode seven, he even becomes a singer in the church's praise band, too, performing "Amazing Grace" for the congregation. Danny...

On that dreadful Monday, March 27th, when six souls lost their lives in the Covenant shooting, my father-in-law called me to break the news. “There’s been a shooting at a school in Green Hills,” he started, and I dropped to the ground. I couldn’t breathe, my head was spinning. I felt like I might have a nervous breakdown when he continued, “It’s not their school. It’s not their school.” Tears were rolling down my cheeks. Editor’s note: Tom Luddy, co-founder of the Telluride Film Festival, died last week at age 79. Here, filmmaker Alan Elliott, who directed the Aretha Franklin documentary Amazing Grace, remembers his kind spirit and moral compass. He also pays tribute to one of Luddy’s signature projects: a collaboration with Agnès Varda on an influential 1968 film about the Black Panthers.

Lana Del Rey’s songs feature a lot of references to classic rock. Sometimes she subverts the songs she mentions. For example, she contracted herself with the main character of an Elton John song.
Lana Del Rey | Chelsea Lauren / Contributor 5. ‘Born to Die’
One of Del Rey’s earliest singles shows off her eclectic taste in music. At one point in the track, she quotes the Christian hymn “Amazing Grace.” She also quotes Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side.” According to The Guardian, “Walk on the Wild Side” is an ode to 1970s hedonism that references personalities from Andy Warhol’s Factory.
Del Rey does this all in a song that’s more musically indebted to trip-hop and baroque pop than either hymn books or Reed. “Born to Die” proves Del Rey is great at creating fascinating juxtapositions — and great at making songs as well.

The content available on most streaming services changes regularly, and Hulu is no exception. As such, having a handy guide for what to watch each month can be an invaluable resource. And so, without further ado, we present to you the 60 best movies on Hulu right now.
What can you expect from the Hulu catalog specifically? Well, for one, plenty of 20th Century productions, as well as films made under its specialty label, Searchlight Pictures. Ever since Disney bought Fox (which also gave the Mouse House a controlling share of Hulu), the streaming service has been the exclusive streaming destination for all 20th Century films. Hulu also has a pretty strong, albeit constantly revolving, selection of films from other studios, so there's plenty of good stuff to choose from. Actress-film director Romola Garai, who plays Mary Tudor, Queen of England and Ireland (July 1553 to November 1558) also known as ‘Blood Mary’, delved into the tragedy of her complex character in the historical drama ‘Becoming Elizabeth’. The series features Alicia Von Rittberg as Queen Elizabeth I.
Talking about Mary I, Romola said: “She was forced into being a mix of different things by circumstances. She was very religious, obviously, but she was an intelligent, sophisticated, sensitive, admirable woman. She could be really good fun.”
Romola continued: “People often spoke about her being funny and clever, but she was forced into this horrific situation where her mother was cast out by her father, King Henry VIII, when he met Anne Boleyn, his eventual second wife, and was excommunicated. Mary was whisked away from her mother, with whom she had a very close relationship, at the age of 12, and she never saw her again.

The Qualifiers 2 episode of “America’s Got Talent” aired Tuesday, August 16 on NBC with 11 acts performing live on the big stage. One of those acts was 12-year-old-singer Madison “Maddie” Taylor Baez, who previously received Howie Mandel‘s Golden Buzzer during her audition of “Amazing Grace” when she was pretending to be a simple audience member. For her live show performance, Maddie took on Steve Winwood‘s “Higher Love,” a song that “no one would expect” from the talented tyke. Watch the “AGT” video above.
After her powerful performance, Simon Cowell addressed conspiracy theorists out there who thought Maddie’s audition was “rigged” because she came out of the audience. As the British judge explained, “The truth is, I was outside. I always run away when people are singing in the break, because they’re terrible. And I actually heard your voice and I thought, ‘Oh, at least someone is good.’ So everything that happened was genuine.

“Amazing Grace” arrived in theaters in 2019, some 47 years after the Aretha Franklin concert film was shot in a South L.A. church. The path to the screen was strewn with litigation — including an aborted premiere at the Telluride Film Festival that was halted by an injunction.
The film won raves from critics and was one of the year’s top grossing documentaries. But three years after its release, the litigation goes on.
On Wednesday, producer Alan Elliott filed suit in New York, accusing indie distributor Neon of botching the film’s release and awards campaign.
Elliott alleges that Neon prematurely announced it had acquired the film, scaring off potential rivals, and then failed to live up to its obligations once the deal was done. The suit alleges that Neon failed to properly market the film, particularly in African American communities.

Aretha Franklin documentary Amazing Grace, which tells the story of the singer’s 1972 gospel album, is subject of more legal issues.
The film, which was mired in limbo for 46 years as a result of various legal battles, is now the subject of a suit from producers including Alan Elliott, against distributor Neon and CEO Tom Quinn.
The crux of the issue also involves the Hollywood trade press, including Deadline, which covered the news that Neon had acquired the U.S rights to the film in December 2018. There was one small problem, the producers allege, it hadn’t signed a deal, and in fact, the producers were in talks with other buyers, including Apple, when Neon announced the deal.

Last year, Joel Coen went solo in a way, directing a compelling version of Shakespeare’s “The Tragedy of Macbeth” without the collaboration of his brother and usual co-director Ethan. And Ethan Coen now takes his own turn in the solo spotlight with a Southern wild man who might as well be rockabilly’s answer to a tragic Shakespearean figure, Jerry Lee Lewis.
But don’t expect soliloquies or soul searching from the upcoming A24 release “Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind,” although it does show off a hefty bit of rock ‘n’ roll style black magic in the way the protean piano player, strutting peacock and tortured Christian nicknamed The Killer helped create the blueprint for rock music and took the art of performance to crazy extremes.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 7, Episode 6, of “The Masked Singer,” “The Double Mask-Off — Round 2 Finals,” which aired April 13 on Fox.
The mystery of host Nick Cannon’s missing shirt wasn’t solved on Wednesday’s episode of “The Masked Singer,” but the show did send one more disguised celebrity to its final round. That meant that two more contestants were eliminated in a double exit on this week’s show: Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman as the Armadillo, and Jennifer Holliday as Miss Teddy.
Armadillo aka Chapman was voted out after singing the traditional hymn “Amazing Grace.” Previous songs he performed included “Secret Agent Man,” by Johnny Rivers and “I Fought the Law,” by the Bobby Fuller Four.

Team Good and Team Cuddly both took hits during Wednesday night’s episode of “The Masked Singer” as the contestants faced another double elimination to see who would be joining Firefly in the finals.
Ringmaster came out on top, meaning that Armadillo and Miss Teddy were sent home. Although they were ultimately cut, both impressed the judges with their performances — especially Miss Teddy who sang her heart out to “Mercy” by Duffy.
It’s no surprise that the judges were blown away by her powerful voice, considering that Miss Teddy was none other than original Dream Girl Jennifer Holliday. Before her official unveiling, judge Nicole Scherzinger was able to correctly identify the iconic singer.
Scherzinger was on a roll during the Round 2 finals, also managing to guess the identity of Armadillo. She quickly realized that all the clues pointed to Dog the Bounty Hunter, and she was right. And in the 11th hour,...
