One Day a Lemming Will Fly: Part 1
The third story of the first season and there is a bit of a groove established.
A 13 year old schoolboy has disappeared and his hung body was found. It looks like suicide but it is murder. He had been strangled.
The dead boy was mercilessly bullied at school as he was regarded as effeminate or gay.
DCI Bilborough wants Fitz involves and DS Beck is getting sick and tired of Fitz being called in.
However throughout the first episode. Bilborough and Beck have perfected their good cop/bad cop routine.
There was a courting couple who came across the body. A schoolteacher is regarded as a suspect.
Shown a few months after the Jamie Bulger incident. This story would had aroused controversy at the time although it would have been purely coincidental.
I noted the hysterical response from the local community when a suspect is brought in for questioning. The police feared for their own safety.
The story is balanced by the turmoil in Fitz's life. He can't get over his wife's infidelity when they were seperated.
Bilsborough's mind is not always with it as his wife's pregnant. He seems distracted at times.
