One of the great names of Belgian cinema, Oscar nominated director Dominique Deruddere has been passionate about filmmaking since he was a child. Thanks to his older brother, who lent him his movie camera, young Dominique managed to make his own films, starting in super 8 at the age of fourteen ("Orange Licht"), proceeding to 16mm ("Bedankt Ma") before accessing to 35 mm ("Wodka Orange"). After these shorts - made before, during and after his film school years, Deruddere collaborated with his childhood friend Marc Didden, co-writing the script of "Brussels by Night" (1983) and playing a significant part in "Istanbul" (1985). In 1986, the young director made the right pick when he decided to film a story by Charles Bukowski. Indeed what was intended as a thirty minute short was, thanks to a far-seeing producer, expanded into a feature film. "Crazy Love" (better known as "Love is a Dog from Hell") was indeed released worldwide, became a festival favorite and was unanimously acclaimed as an achievement. The film also drew the attention of Francis Ford Coppola who, through his Zoetrope production company, helped Deruddere to set up his next project, an adaptation of John Fante's "Bandini", filmed in the USA in 1989, also distributed all over the world. Dominique Deruddere came back to the States in 2001 to defend his film "Everybody Famous", which had been nominated for the Best Foreign Film Academy Award. Among Deruddere's other films are :"Suite 16" (1994), "Hombres Complicados" (1997), "Pour le plaisir" (2004) , The Wedding Party (2005), Firmin (2007), Flying Home (aka Racing Hearts, 2014)...- Actor

Herwig Ilegems was born on 4 August 1962 in Turnhout, Flanders, Belgium. He is an actor and director, known for Professor T. (2015), Clinch (2016) and Vriendinnen (2014).- Former Flemish actor Walter Michiels graduated from Royal Conservatory Antwerp in 1988. Remembered in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium, he suffered from an epoch-making breakdown in the 2000s. From 1990 to 1993, he played the ironically iconic character Hippoliet "Pico" Coppens in the sitcom F.C. De Kampioenen (1990) before he fell upon hard times due to an alcohol and drug addiction, which led to his dismissal, and subsequent mental health problems.
Considered a promising actor in the early 1990s, he established himself alongside contemporaries such as Koen De Bouw, Filip Peeters and Michael Pas. He starred in the show's early stages, from 1990 until 1993. Back in that time, the show quickly reached the peak of its popularity. He will likely forever be remembered since the titles he appears in generally enjoy iconic status in Flanders, often attributed to of his own, Jacques Vermeire's and Carry Goossens's contributions.
He was fired from F.C. De Kampioenen after four seasons. His portrayal of Pico Coppens, a part given to Peter van Asbroeck at first but who was unable to due to physical problems, would become Michiels's only significant work.
He became a drug dealer years after his dismissal. He was convicted to 18 months in prison for selling drugs to minors in 2002, controversially displaying indifferent attitude in a Flemish documentary. In 2004, Belgian Court recommended an internment for Michiels. As late as 2023, he lived at the bottom of Belgian society, homeless for almost ten years, and came into contact with police and judiciary almost constantly. He was married to his co-star Ann Tuts. They divorced in 1994. - Actor
