Netflix gives us so much, then takes it away at random moments. Why, red envelope gods? Why? As October comes to a close, Netflix is preparing to jettison a bunch of classic titles for the beginning of November. Since you're likely knee-deep in horror classics as you prepare your Slutty Adnan Syed costume for this weekend's festivities, let me remind you that a non-horror classic will soon be leaving Netflix. And if you haven't watched it yet, you're missing out on arguably the most touching movie of the '80s. Can you guess it? Here's a hint: The movie closes with, "I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?" Yep, it's that 1986 gem "Stand By Me." "Stand By Me" won't available on Netflix at the beginning of next month, so let's highlight a few of its greatest moments now.
