His song "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" was a hit for Elvis Presley in 1975, and climbed the country charts again in 1992 with a version by Travis Tritt. "A Good Year for the Roses" was a No. 2 hit for George Jones in 1970; in 1981, a version by Elvis Costello did well in the U.K.
